The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful . If you are staying on the second floor there are about 15-18 steps to navigate up as there is no elevator. Currently there is no in house restaurant. There are a few off the main street.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was accommodating in changing our room from an upstairs to downstairs once I found out there wasn’t an elevator!😄I’m too old to lug my suitcase up the stairs.

The staff was amazing, it is a very old property, you just have the basics which is fine, if you know ahead of time that there is not a microwave or fridge, the room was clean, in need of some TLC, the A/C wasn't working effectively, the rooms are not quality checked for issues, mostly preventive maintenance issues. When an influx of guests are coming into town they just rent out the rooms regardless of the issues.

Keep in mind the hotel is well over 100 years old. It has been lovingly maintained though the upstairs porches are not safe , the wraparound veranda downstairs is excellent for relaxing. This is a great spot to stay while you visit the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountain scenic route,Chihuahuan-desert botanical garden and Marfa,Tx. Most of all the staff are very helpful and kind..

Staff was helpful and nice. I did a self check in and everything was prepared for me at the front desk when I walked in. Fresh coffee in the morning. Minutes away from a beautiful view.

Loved this place! Oozing with history and early 20th century charm. So historical. Came here late June 2026. Went to a star party at McDonald Observatory the night we stayed here and Fort Davis next morning. No food options in the hotel, but that is not an issue. Several options nearby. Room was clean, comfortable, large, had high ceilings, and cool. Bathroom kind of tiny and minimal counter space. Not a big deal though when you factor in the other positive elements. Kids enjoyed the shared pool that was a short walk away. Would absolutely stay here again.
