5. Pretty Rocky Mountain Retreat ~betw Buena Vista & Breck

Western Union Ranch of the Rockies

“Large cabin stocked with more towels and dishes than I have in my own home. Very comfortable for family of 6. 4 Bikes and games for them to use. Cabin is a bit off the beaten path on a gravel road. If you have mobility issues getting into the shower is a challenge as the tub is very deep. There is no AC which wasn’t an issue although many windows were missing screens making it a little tricky. Overall a very nice place to stay. Host was very quick to respond to our questions.”

“Great spot right on the lake and wonderful view of the mountains Awesome views from the back of the property. Host was great to work with. Pool is in a good spot and locks for safety and was warm. The pool liner needs replaced instead of using lots of duct tape. Bring your own towels there are not extra ones available. Rooms were clean but bathrooms not as much. Shower curtains were not clean. Or favorite spot was the rec room. Great space for a big family and next to the pool and the hot tub.……

“We rented Blue Sky Lodge for 6 nights. The house was very spacious with gorgeous views and grounds. The outdoor space warmer didn’t work which was a minor inconvenience. The house was stocked with toiletries; however, a bit lacking on towels for the number of guest it can accommodate. We were a party of 8 and still had to wash multiples times. We did encounter a major issue on day 5 that was unacceptable as it posed potential safety and health risks. We had numerous lengthy power outages……

“When booking this non-refundable room, we were not told that there was no a/c and that the place was under construction. Granted we stayed in the heat of summer and even mountain air didn’t cool off our sunny facing room. We slept with the heavy glass door open with only a magnet screen curtain keeping anyone from entering our room. I have environmental allergies so after only two nights here, I came home with sinus and ear issues. The grounds also are in dire need of attention. I can tell the……
