The agriturismo is at the edge of San Sano, and is about a 15 minute drive into Siena. Its an old farm property surrounded by vineyards. It was a lovely resting place with a nice pool. The staff were very welcoming.

The property is set in the tiny village of San Sano, surrounded by vineyards and olive orchards. Beautiful! The property itself is in excellent condition even though it is in the remains of a long destroyed castle. The rooms were ample sized and clean. The on site pool was well maintained and had lounge chairs with umbrellas surrounding it. The staff was super nice and helpful. Morning breakfast ( included) and light dinner (at an extra cost) were tasty. The light dinners were prepared outside the property and featured typical Tuscan food options. The property owner offers tours of his vineyard and wine tastings for his very good wines.

Our stay at Agriturismo San Sano in Chianti was absolutely wonderful. The location is stunning, surrounded by Tuscan vineyards and rolling hills with views that seem to go on forever. The buildings are eclectic and full of character, capturing the true feel of Tuscany. The staff went above and beyond. Lorena was incredibly helpful in guiding us to the property. Alberto was truly amazing — after my daughter had a Vespa accident earlier in the day, he arranged crutches from locals and even brought food to our room so she could rest. The whole team was warm, accommodating, and kind throughout our stay. Even when I accidentally left with the room key in a rush to catch a train, they were so gracious about it. This is a beautiful, peaceful place with authentic Tuscan charm and genuine hospitality. I highly recommend Agriturismo San Sano for anyone looking for an unforgettable stay in the Chianti region.

This Agriturismo was one of a kind! A vacation from our vacation! The grounds are breath taking, the rooms are beautiful with lots of character, the pool was peaceful and clean, and lastly, the staff is beyond kind and welcoming. We interacted with many ladies, including Lorrena, who made us tourists feel safe and accepted. The wine tour of the vineyard was intimate and special. Definitely recommend this peaceful stay to all adults who are looking to relax.

Beautiful grounds, the breakfast was very nice and fresh homemade foods. Pool was clean, a bit too cold for me. Shower was a bit small, but workable. Air conditioning worked great. It is not close to any shopping or restaurants (except for one fabulous restaurant that was walking distance). Would stay again. No elevator, lots of steps...but they do have ground level rooms.

Perfect Tuscan Stay

Just book it!! If you are looking for an agriturismo in Chianti area this place is perfect. San Sano is extremely small but that’s what we liked about it. The local restaurant was delicious (Davide was incredible) and the complimentary breakfast was delicious and fresh. We stayed on October 4 and enjoyed the pool! The shower was very nice and water was always hot. Staff were friendly and very attentive. A car rental is probably needed but with a gps it was super easy to get to (we rented a car from rome and dropped it off in Florence). Driving around this area was breathtakingly beautiful. We drove to a few towns, San Gigimano included, and we loved driving around to the towns and seeing the views. We didn’t want to leave and will be back for sure!

This is a gem! Agriturismo San Sano is located in San Sano, a small, picturesque place in the heart of Chianti. The accommodation is in an old castle, recently renovated. This lovely property is well maintained. You can relax with a beverage by the refreshing pool, overseeing the vineyards. Breakfast is included and delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. We also took their winery tour, which included a wine tasting and cold cuts. Alberto showed us the vines, took us in the cellar and offered great explanations of the whole wine making process. We have a newfound appreciation of wine knowing the hard work that goes into it. Lastly, there is a great restaurant right next to the Agriturismo Lo Grotta della Rana. Delicious food and courteous staff! Fettuccine al Tariffo is a mist try! Superb experience!!!
