Snarky Shark - Walk to the Beach

Just three short blocks from the water's edge in Jamaica Beach, the Snarky Shark offers up serenity and carefree beach days while still being a short distance from all that Galveston has to offer.

Nestled next to Galveston Island State Park and boasting amenities such as its' own private marina and boat ramp, this community features a centrally located sparkling pool, a covered pavilion and a playground. Note a Guest permit is required.

Pull up to the Snarky Shark and conveniently park up to four vehicles in the driveway. The perfect place for your party to relax with plenty of space for everyone. The fenced in backyard provides children with a place to play while parents keep an eye on them from the shaded downstairs patio. Enjoy cooking on the charcoal grill while visiting with friends and family after a day at the beach.

Inside, this home away from home features central air conditioning upstairs, split AC downstairs, and ceiling fans throughout – perfect to help cool down from the Texas heat. Sink down into the plush sofa or loveseat in the living room and gather together for movie night. Whip up breakfast or dinner with ease in the fully equipped kitchen that is stocked with a variety of cookware and utensils. Grab a stool at the counter or dining room table, or head outside to the deck and enjoy great conversation with family and friends.

Enjoy a good night’s sleep in one of the two upstairs bedrooms or downstairs sleeping area. The spacious primary bedroom has a plush king-size bed, while the secondary bedroom has a super comfortable queen size bed. The downstairs sleeping area currently features a full over full bunkbed, perfect for teens or young adults. NOTE the bunkbed will be replaced with one full size bed and one twin convertible chair bed in June.

NOTE that the downstairs living space and sleeping area is NOT connected to the upstairs so is not suitable for unattended young children to stay. Entrance to the downstairs living space is within the yard next to the patio area.

Note the minimum age requirement of 25 unless you have positive reviews from previous VRBO stays, in addition to being able to provide government issued photo ID and have completed the verification process on VRBO.

OCCUPANCY - maximum seven guests (one king, one queen, one full downstairs and one convertible twin chair downstairs) - and maximum ten during the day. An additional fee of $100 per guest will be charged if the number of over-night guests exceeds the number on the reservation.

Adult dogs are allowed to a max of two and max 60 lbs each. $50 pet fee per pet per booking. I ask that pets stay off all furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard (doggie bags provided) and are in a kennel if left alone inside the home. Note the property is fully fenced.

Beach toys, corn hole, boogie boards, chairs and a cooler are provided. And as an extra convenience, beach towels are also provided - please just ensure to wash them after use and return them to where they are stored to avoid additional cleaning (laundry) charges.

ADDITIONAL FEES
An additional fee of $100 per pet will be charged for undisclosed pets.

An additional fee of $200 will be charged for smoking inside the house (upstairs or downstairs). Smoking is permitted outside - please properly dispose of cigarette butts.

Located within six blocks away, the City of Jamaica Beach Regatta Basin, aka the "Marina", features a single, stabilized, paved boat ramp that provides access to the canals, which lead to West Bay, a parking area, and seating area (no restrooms). Guest permit is required.

The City of Jamaica Beach swimming pool is open to the public (with the purchase of admission). During the operating season, the entry fee for residents and non-residents is $5.00 per person for a daily pass. The pool typically opens around the Memorial Day Holiday until the Labor Day Holiday on Tuesday-Sunday from 10AM to 8PM (weather permitting and subject to change). Please note: at the beginning and end of the season, the pool will be open on weekends only while local, public schools are in session.

For golf enthusiasts, the newly renovated, public 18-hole, Moody Gardens Golf Course is less than 8 miles away. Over 500 palm trees are on the property!

Conveniently located 15 minutes to Galveston's Seawall, 25 minutes to Pleasure Pier and 30 minutes to The Strand.

Note the 9% community fee is the Jamaica Beach Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) - 100% of this fee is paid to the City of Jamaica Beach. The 6% Texas
Hotel Occupancy Tax is a separate line item and 100% of this fee is paid to the State of Texas.

Guests have access to the entire home with the exception of the owners closet in the bedroom and the garage.

A 5-minute walk to the beach with easy access to cross San Luis Pass Rd at the traffic light intersection. Golf carts and vehicles are allowed on the beach - so good to drive down with your beach gear!
