Wonderful week at villa Jolanda

We had a wonderful week at villa Jolanda. The villa has an attractive large swimming pool and a beautiful spacious garden, with lots of privacy and tranquility. Mount Etna can be seen from the property! The owner is nice, helpful and easy to reach. The lovely town of Taormina is just a short drive away. And the town of Seracuse isn't too far away either. Even the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento can be visited if you are willing to make a long drive. In short: highly recommended.

A wonderful stay on the side of Mt Etna

It is a lovely property, about 20 minutes drive from the beach, with views to the coast and Mount Etna. There's a small town nearby with a supermarket and a couple of restaurants (and many more within a 15 minute drive). It was peaceful, relaxing and pretty. The pool is a wonderful asset and the view made breakfasts on the veranda outside a pleasure. Giarre is close by, the motorway that runs North to South is easily accessible making day trips to Syracuse, Taormina and further, straightforward. Overall a great stay in a peaceful location with excellent hosts. Thank you, Rosemarie and Antonio!

Familienurlaub in der Idylle von Giarre

Wir haben die Einsamkeit und den privaten Pool sehr genossen. Rosamaria, die Gastgeberin, war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich.

Excellent, dépaysant et charmant !

Idéalement placé en hauteur entre Catane et Taormine a San Giovanni … très beau lieu de villégiature au milieu des vignes avec sa très grande piscine (8*16) pour se reposer et partir découvrir la côte Est de la Sicile et l’impressionnant Etna !

Paradise....and a cool breeze

We three adults had a fantastic 2 weeks at Villa Iolanda. The big green gates shut off the outside world, the gardens were immaculate, the pool enormous and the villa spacious and comfortable. Rosamaria was the perfect hostess, everpresent but unobtrusive, and always helpful with advice and recommendations and often laden with gifts of fruit....and even more intoxicating stuff! We had the freedom to wander in the grounds and while the mature trees gave tremendous shade, the views were extraordinary in every direction. It was a great base for exploring the wider area, from Etna to Taormina and the gaggle of local villages Sant Alfio, Fornazzo and especially Zaferana. So much to do, we'll be back!

Ankommen in einem Feriendomizil mit ganz besonderem Zauber! Ein traumhaftes, sehr großes Anwesen mit einem ebenso schönen Ferienhaus. Der Garten, eine Oase für die Sinne, sehr persönlich und liebevoll gestaltet! Die Vermieterin, Rosemarie, ist überaus freundlich, warmherzig und hilfsbereit. Bei unserer Ankunft war das Haus bedingt durch den Winter und die vergangenen kalten, regnerischen Tage sehr kalt. Rosemarie hat uns extra einen kleinen Gas- und Elektroofen sowie Holz für den offenen Kamin zur Verfügung gestellt, um uns den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Sie war stets persönlich oder telefonisch präsent, um sich nach unseren Wünschen zu erkundigen. Eine bessere Vermieterin kann man sich nicht vorstellen!

Amazing Experience

We had a lovely holiday with our two children at Villa Iolanda this year. We were lucky to be in Sicily during an eruption of Etna and enjoyed watching the late night display of lava and fountains with the host family. The Di Guardo family were extremely knowledgeable and had first had experience of visiting Etna, so we had an extraordinary trip up to the craters around the summit. We were made to feel incredibly welcome by the host family and nothing was too much trouble. Early in our stay we had toured the vineyard and tasted the beautiful Carricante wine produced there, so it was a wonderful experience that on our last day in Sicily, we were invited to help with the harvest of the grapes, which was a tremendous experience for all of us, working alongside the professionals.

What a wonderful place

We enjoyed our stay in this wonderful property. Nice garden, large Pool. Taormina or Syrakus are less than one hour away. Host is amazing, very helpful and hearty. We will for sure come back!

Wonderful holidays !

We were very warmly welcomed by Rosamaria in her typical Sicilian house. We could enjoy the beautiful garden and smell the great scents like orange flower and jasmine. Rosamaria has been very attentive with us along our stay and has recommended the most beautiful places to visit : Taormine and Castelmola, Siracusa, Acierola... and of course the Etna volcano ! We really would like to come again in the summer time, enjoy this time the big pool with the beautiful view of the coast on one side, having the divine protection of the Etna volcano on the other side...

Gorgeous holiday home with lovely views of Mount Etna

The house and pool are like a dream and our boys thoroughly enjoyed the large garden. Rosamaria and Giovanni are the most welcoming hosts with excellent recommendation for daytrips. We had a lovely time in Sicily!

Séjour tout repos

Jolie piscine, jardin très beau, dans vaste propriété, vue sur la mer et les environs. Nous deux petits garçons ont eu toute la place pour courir. Madame Rosemary est très gentille, et nous a donné beaucoup d'informations utiles pour notre séjour. Situation très calme, mais village a cinq minutes de voiture, avec petit supermarché, pharmacie et pâtisserie. Cuisine rénovée, sans lave-vaisselle, ce qui n'était pas un problème pour nous, car manger à la maison en Italie aurait été quand même un peu dommage.
