"The map location took us to the small road and end road in the back. We needed to reverse out to the front road. I thought it was a house but it wasn't. It's an apartment with 3 bedrooms with very very small living area. You can't even walk together or walk opposite direction. You need to wait someone walk pass first then you can walk. "Decent room for price, easy procedure to check in and out. No TV or anything but didn’t care as it was used mainly as sleeping quarters. "Koyasan was the highlight of our Japan experience. The place we got for overnight temple stay at Ekoin temple was beautiful. Dinner was large and amazing (I am not a vegetarian but the food was delicious). Our room was a junior suite with our own bath and garden. I would not have it any other way. I wish I stayed longer than one night. Remember that this is a stay at a temple. Although one gets very nice experience, I would urge any tourists to not treat this as some hotel. The people serving you are Buddhists monks or monks in training. As a Buddhist (from a different country), we would never have monks serving us food (other way around). I have seen people leave some not so kind comments and if that is something you are inclined to do, consider not doing temple stay and check yourself into an actual hotel."
