“Since I'm not form New Orleans, I don't actually know what a true New Orleans feel is. But this gorgeous mansion seems like the real deal. My room ("the Bayou Suite) was huge. More important, the owners are good people you can trust. The breakfast coffee, eggs, bacon, and fruit are delicious and fresh. The home is not in a tourist area, which is why I chose it. If you want tourist stuff like shopping, restaurants, and bars within walking distances, you migjt want to pay more and go elsewhere.……

“Nice stay. Charming historic property. Our room was clean but we did see (and kill) a couple of cockroaches. Breakfast was excellent. It is set in a quiet neighborhood, close to the St Charles streetcar. ”

“Walkable to so much we wanted to do. Always had easy parking out front. Quiet residential area and the hosts were friendly and personable. The Marigny is a great neighborhood and you can easily walk to Frenchman Street, the French Quarter, and many other things. We easily found restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. ”

“I’ve never stayed in such an old house so I wasn’t expecting the toilets to be so sensitive and the water pressure to be pretty non existent. The shower water went off a few times while we were showering. But I’d recommend replacing the shower curtains. They weren’t that clean. The house was nice and the garden area was pretty. Loved having an off street parking spot. The house worked great for our friends and family!”

“This historic home is a lovely place to stay in a lovely city. However, by far the best thing about staying at the Auld Sweet Olive B & B is Ms. Kate! She’s attentive, punctual, friendly, funny and totally on top of everything that’s going on in the area. I know that I will be staying there again on my next visit to New Orleans. ”

“8 of us stayed here for a long weekend. The 3 bedrooms were all nice and each of them was big enough for a couple. The loft above is spacious, but the steps to get to it are a bit steep and can be challenging for some. The location is convenient and close enough to enjoy the area, but far enough to get quiet sleep. Domingo and Natasha were great hosts and communicated consistently throughout our stay!”

“You can't beat this location! Just a few doors down from Frenchman street, you can hear the music all night - yes that includes after you want to go to sleep - so make sure to pack your earplugs. The space was cute and nicely maintained. Little touches all around that make you feel like you are staying in a "home" not just four walls.”

“The Okra Inn was a great festival house for our group 7. Some of us ran up and down the stairs (all of the bedrooms were upstairs) and some of us climbed the stairs slowly . . . Every morning we gathered around the roomy island/bar to have fun cooking breakfast and COFFEE TOGETHER. These original NOLA houses have some stories to tell and the Okra Inn was intriguing in that way. It was colorful, clean, and comfortable, especially the rocking chairs on the front porch. “Always have a great stay at this property. A little older property but well maintained and recently updated. On site steakhouse is excellent. Streetcar line steps from the door making getting around very easy. We do not use much of the on site amenities but location is awesome. Many other excellent restaurants nearby or a streetcar ride away. ”
