“We have stayed at Millside Cottage many times before and it's a favourite of ours. Cottage is very homely and well equipped. It was great to see that the shower has been upgraded. One suggestion is that the new Wood burner is not that practical to use as there is no companion set, or at the very minimum an available poker. Having a fire at home, we know that sometimes you really need a poker to "re-adjust" locations of logs within the fire to ensure that they are sat correctly.”

“Though bijou, it was well designed and the space was very well used. The outside space was good and lovely to have the hills around, We did have problems using the very modern microwave/grill and cooker - It needed DETAILED WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS! and we would have preferred an ordinary electric kettle. A corkscrew, too would have been useful! But, we enjoyed a wonderful 2 days”

“Great accommodation in a lovely little village with fantastic views. Everything you could need to make this a home from home and only a 20 minute walk into Keswick.”

“An excellent place for touring the lakes and the coast, easy to get to. Spoilt being a Sykes site as they go above and beyond to make it perfect with all you need for a memorable holiday. Many thanks for a very clean and comfortable stay, will recommend.”

“Great cottage in a very good area outside Keswick. Comfortable, good for walks , car trips to other places . Would recommend.”

“A true gem in the heart of Keswick! The property felt like home from home, but with the luxury and convenience you would expect from a holiday rental. There is free onsite parking, check-in is easy (the hosts actually contacted us on the day to say we could check-in earlier if we wanted to), and communication with the host was quick and helpful. We travelled with our two year old and the property had plenty of space for her to run round in, as well as toddler cutlery/plates, a high chair, travel……

“This property is great value for money. Could do with a little bit of deor makeover in living room , a bit dated (sorry).but this may put people off which is otherwise a great rental. Very comfortable beds, bedrooms were lovely and spacious and very clean. One bedroom at the top of the property has a great view of Latrigg and Skiddaw on your own private balcony with chairs and a table. Great for a coffee on a morning . Massive added bonus is your own parking space at the rear of the property.……

“We had a wonderful five-day stay at Tawny Cottage in Portinscale in mid-May. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very cosy, and it was such a lovely touch to find the heating already on when we arrived. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped, which made self-catering easy, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept really well throughout our stay. The location was excellent too - close to The Farmer’s Arms, a traditional pub serving good food, and with easy access to Keswick while still……

“We enjoyed our stay immensely. The owner was very attentive to our needs, property was very cosy and warm, and ideally located for local amenities and touring the area. We will return!”

“Just had a lovely week at Grisedale Pike in Keswick. Information provided prior to our stay was timely and very helpful and had everything we needed to know. The property was as described, well maintained, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location in the centre of Keswick with access to plenty of walks from the door. Parking was located close by and very convenient. We would absolutely stay again.”

“We have spent yet another week at Rock Lynn. Wonderful setting. It is peaceful. It has everything that we want. We will be back next year.”

“Very comfortable and thoughtful accommodation, a lot of care had been taken with design. Location is convenient for accessing lots of walks. The Chalet and Lingholm are very good for lunch.”
