"Netter Empfang und Schlüsselübergabe,Schöne Ferienwohnung mit 2 Bädern. In die obere Etage kommt man nur über eine steile, schmale Holztreppe. Gut für Teenager, die Eltern kommen nicht so oft hoch ;-) Wir hatten ein paar kleinere Probleme, die aber vom Vermieter schnell behoben werden konnten bzw. es konnte eine Kompromisslösung gefunden werden. "The description on the booking site really understated the beauty of this holiday home. We were impressed by the tasteful interior and art, and also by the very friendly welcome by the sexton of the neighbouring church. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into renovating this house in a classic / antique style while making it very liveable at the same time. Then there's the spacious lawn out in front where you can relax in the shade of an actual church (ruin), and the village of Huttenrode...

"Should have been told it was not a hotel. Difficult to check in. Did not receive how to get Key to room instructions before I arrived or instructions on how to check out. Room had a kitchen but no silverware/utensils. I got to the address and wandered around for a half an hour trying to figure out how to get into my room or even where my room was after flying for 14 hours. Luckily I found a cleaning person in a nearby room who helped me find a key to get into my room. I had no one I could contact otherwise."

"The room was good , clean and comfortable. Unfortunately we had a security incident where someone managed to open our room door in the middle of the night . Luckily I had my dog who I think gave the person a fright. I tried to explain to reception in the morning but no one speaks English . I then sent a follow up email in German and English which they took days to reply to and then just said the night staff needed more training . It was a very scary experience which I didn’t feel the took on board ."

"The concierge seemed very annoyed to help us, especially when we didn't know German. He kept throwing up his hand and said no English and I don't know. I tried to use a translator app but he didn't want to use it..instead he asked the guests behind us to translate. It felt very unwelcoming and uncomfortable. It was a shocking experience for us. We have never experience such an inappropriate interaction before. It left a bad impression for us. This is not the best hotel to visit if you don't speak German or want friendlier service. "
