Unfortunately, I was disappointed with certain aspects of the facilities. The cleanliness of the pool did not meet my expectations, and I observed leaks in the rooms of my building. Additionally, the food at the buffet lacked flavor, which was surprising given the culinary reputation of resorts in the Dominican Republic.
During check-in, I encountered an issue where the front desk staff insisted that I pay an additional resort fee of $300 ($150 per adult), which was not mentioned on my invoice. When I inquired about this fee, the staff member consulted with a colleague and ultimately informed me that the payment was not necessary. This confusion set a negative tone for my trip. While I did not pay this fee, one member of my group did initially pay it but later received a refund upon realizing that the rest of us had not been charged.
Furthermore, I felt somewhat uncomfortable during my stay due to the presence of a significant number of local guests, which created an uneasy atmosphere for my family and friends. While we made the best of our trip and fortunately did not experience any incidents, it still affected our overall comfort.
