Location, location!
The property is on the 3rd floor (no lift) right on the seafront. Just a pedestrian promenade separates the property from the shoreline. The views from the balcony, the sound of the sea are incredible. Also, it is wonderfully peaceful despite being a 2 minute walk from the main square and a terrific swimming location.
However the check-in process was appalling and we had actually booked a hotel close by as we were initially unable to get into the flat. It took an hour on a Thursday evening before anyone returned our messages and calls and eventually facilitated our access to the flat. The agency blamed their new technology ..... It was only the following day, after a written complaint, that we received a proper apology but absolutely nothing else, apart from some extra towels which we had requested.
Inside the flat was clean but very bare, with an absolute minimum of towels, soap etc. I have noticed over the years that many hosts will leave lots of sauces, oils etc for cooking, plenty of nice towels, bathroom products, nice house decorations and even a welcome pack. This time the opposite was unfortunately the case and this, coupled with the access issue, left a sour taste.
However the flat was clean and as advertised and the location is fantastic.
