My husband and I stayed in this fabulous cottage by the bay for one super relaxing week! The rental was exactly as pictured. The kitchen is fully equiped for all your cooking and entertaining. We loved the layout of the cottage and the proximity to the beach and bay activities! We travel to the Fort Morgan area two to three times a year and this has been our most relaxing stay! You will not be disappointed with this property! We will definitely be booking again!

It was a great quaint place to stay right on the water. There was a house being built two house down so there is construction close by but the exterior is almost done. Great fishing at the dock, good flounders caught and plenty of weak fish around.

Family getaway

Loved our stay! I loved having our own private dock. We sat out there at night listening to the water. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. A little bit of a walk to the beach but we found a place we could park that was real close to the beach but the kiddos liked walking so half the time I drove the car back and they walked :) We would rent again!

Perfect R&R!

This is our second time renting Tortuga Bay. We love this quiet spot and the neighbors are warm and friendly. The house is perfect size for our small family and we love that pets are welcome! Tortuga Bay is neat and well organized. You can fish right outside on the private dock. The top deck is perfect for grilling and lounging. We will be back!

Great Week!

Weather was not the best for the whole week, but we had a couple very nice days. The fishing was great right off the pier. House was the perfect size for us. The rooms were comfortable. The back deck was my favorite place to read and watch the seagulls.

1st trip to Fort Morgan

We booked this property for my husbands birthday as his only wish was a fishing trip to Dauphin Island area so when this water front property showed up in Fort Morgan with a boat dock at a reasonable price we were sold and booked a couple weeks prior to his birthday weekend. Unfortunately after we booked the storm warnings for the week to follow started showing on the news and we knew we could end up with a wet trip and could only hope for the best. We arrived on Wednesday right before Hurricane Nicole hit Florida. We were lucky and didn't get any rain the entire time in Alabama but the winds were extremely intense and the waters were almost too much for our vessel to handle at some points. But we stuck it out and fished every single day coming back soaked to the bone from waves crashing over our boat and in our faces over and over and over again. It was almost impossible to make it out of the bay into the Ocean where the waters were still rough but much better than inside the bay where our house was. The bay waters were rough! We fished the rigs and caught nothing but a bunch of stinking catfish until the last day(which was the hubby's birthday) when we got on the Red Snappers and finally had some fish worth fishing for after putting ourselves through the fight to make it out to sea. Returning back into the bay was even worse than going out but we made it and even tho it was scary at times we had a blast! The boat dock at our house was nice but the Cove we were in didn't have any wave breakers so it made it impossible to keep the boat in the slip without beating the crap out of it. So we had to keep the boat off site unfortunately. That was a bit disappointing since we chose this location specifically for the boat slip but considering what was happening one state over we knew we were lucky and things could have been much worse. The Neighborhood had some houses that were in need of attention, some were under construction, and the rest were cute little houses all with great views. Our rental was cute as it could be! It had an outdoor shower, a fire pit by the dock and string lights outside but with the intense wind we couldn't use or enjoy the outdoor amenities. Inside was perfect size for our group of 4 and was decorated nicely and everything was clean. Recommendations we have would be to upgrade the master bedroom mattress. It's more like a College kids bed than a place for 2 adults to get a good night's rest on vacation. Overall great rental!

A new family fav!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to this adorable home. We enjoyed days on the beach, evenings fishing and relaxing on the patio, and even a little sight seeing in the area. We will definitely be back!

Short Anniversary Getaway

We chose this rental for the boat slip which we enjoyed although it is quite narrow. Still much Hurricane Sally damage in the subdivision with significant construction noise.

Relaxing

Great place to stay if you don’t mind being pretty good way out from stores/activity. We loved two quiet nights here. Would highly recommend for those looking to get away from hustle and bustle of normal tourist area. 💗

Listing a bit misleading

Let’s start with the photo. It gives the appearance there is beach front. There is none This property is ideal for fishing since it has a private dock. Overall it was nice but definitely not for beach goers. You get a beautiful view of 3 oil rigs

Excellent property

Clean, right next to the beach, and plenty of pots/pans/dishes. Lovely big porch! Quick response by after hours person when encountering a problem. Washer/dryer, outdoor shower to rinse off from the beach. My only suggestion would be to get a dishwasher that works..the one there currently doesn’t hardly work.

Perfect retreat!

We had a great time at Mamas Happy Place, Too! This place by the water is relaxation to the max! The house was clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies for cooking your own meals, and spacious enough for the whole family. We really enjoyed our morning coffee on the large deck overlooking the bay. And the sunsets are amazing! This place is away from the hustle and bustle so we could actually enjoy each other’s company. I’m giving this property a strong recommendation for anyone that wants to relax and have a comfortable vacation. Dolphins were visible in the bay in the afternoon, adding to the enjoyment. Now that I’m leaving, I feel that a week wasn’t enough!

Beautiful location.

Although we really liked the location of the property, we were disappointed with the furnishings and lack of equipment in the unit. The beds and living room furnishings were very uncomfortable. The situation with the beds was not just a matter of soft versus hard or individual preferences, the beds are worn out. The queen bed rolls to the middle ... The mattress on the bunk beds lumpy and very uncomfortable. With so many rainy days during our stay, we couldn't be comfortable hanging out all day in our rental. We also had to toast all of our bread in the oven because a toaster was not available. There were no drinking glasses in the unit so purchased our own. I was told I should have reported these missing items to the property management upon arrival and that's probably true... but it seems that these basic items should be inventoried been rentals.

It was everything I expected, everything was just what was advertised.
