Hotel is very nice and clean, there is very little within walking distance, however the waterfront is only a15 minute ride away.

Very bad experience Had evacuation due to fire alarm Some party was going on at property with loud do playing past 1 am, our room on 4th floor was rattling the entire night The bathrooms very dirty with exhaust not working at all I have paid almost , little less than 600$ per night for this terrible experience. So disgusted

Loved the property until they had a party at the bar that set the fire alarm of and they party on the deck so you couldn't get any sleep. The party didnt get over until late It was loud.

The front desk staff is very responsive. However, the property is old, the bathroom door won't close without pushing hard with our body weight, the boiler didn't work on the morning we had to leave so it was cold water wash up only. The place needs maintenance and refurbishing.

We always love this hotel, located away from high traffic areas and close enough to everything. Even took a nice dip in the lake.

Property well maintained. Bed very comfortable. Modern bathroom fixtures and nice assortment of hygiene items. Excellent breakfast included in stay with hot and cold items and great variety. Well stocked and attentive staff and very clean dining room.

We were very happy with our stay. The bed was comfortable, the views from the room were great. I wasn't a great fan of the breakfast but overall this was a very pleasant experience and would recommend.

Parking was a challenge. And when we had a shower the fire alarm went off. Twice. No fan switch. But there is a fan. Little issue but overall a great stay.

Plenty of seating out by the lake. Very relaxing to sit and watch the ducks. Had a Wonderful meal at the restaurant! The room was quiet and comfortable. The included breakfast was great as well. Very pleased with our stay!

The layout of this hotel is truly unique. It’s not all on the same level—you often have to go up and down stairs, even when you’re technically on the same floor. This makes it quite easy to get lost, and it turned out to be the most uniquely structured hotel I’ve ever stayed in. However, it sits right beside a beautiful lake and not too from city centre and shopping malls.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate us when our flight was cancelled by Air Canada. We were very grateful for the manager’s rate we were offered as a courtesy for the disruption even though it had nothing to do with the hotel!

The location of the hotel was great. Only 5 min from Dalhousie University. The Chocolate lake was very scenic and the restaurant was located overlooking the balcony which was great. The front desk staff, kitchen and restaurant staff as well as the cleaning staff were very polite, kind, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast (free) and dinner was delicious. Great coffee machine in the lobby.

The hotel was very clean and well cared for. All the staff that i encountered were super friendly and helpful, every employee acknowledged you. The restaurant has wonderful food, the prime rib dip was amazing and i highly recommend it. The grounds are wonderful for relaxing by the lake, super peaceful. I really enjoyed my stay

Love starting here but when i asked for extra towels (there were 4 of us only towels for 3 of us) I was told i would have to wait until 8am. This made us late for our appointment.
