"This property holds sentimental value to me as my grandparents managed this motel years ago when a different company owned it and I spent my childhood here. I can appreciate that a lot of work has gone into repairing and fixing up the location. The new management is visibly dedicated to to ensuring that your stay is pleasant. Staff in the office and the maid service were extremely friendly and welcoming. I didn't get a chance to swim but the pool looked clean and well maintained. "

"As non-gamblers, we can't comment on the gambling aspect, but the hotel and rooms themselves were clean and it offered more than your average hotel. We did have a blood stain on our sheets and they offered to move us to a different room, but we chose to get different sheets instead. Free coffee in the morning, but no free breakfast. Free parking, felt safe leaving the car in the parking lot, even in that community. I would not recommend walking around the area, as Wheeling Island is run-down, but it was a short drive to everything Wheeling and the surrounding area has to offer. Good price for what you get, BUT we added a second weekday night and it was $20 more than buying through Expedia. Check your pricing before buying."
