Site of Heather & Ibstock station. View westward, towards Heather on the B591 from Ibstock: the station had been in the dip ahead. It was on the ex-LNWR & Midland Joint (Ashby & Nuneaton) line from Nuneaton via Shackerstone (to left) to Coalville and Loughborough (right), the Charnwood Forest line. The station closed 13/4/31, but the line remained for goods until 7/10/63.

Gatehouse at Heather Hall - 1 On the south side of Swepstone Road, the gates lead to Heather Hall and have a sign reading 'Private'. The public footpath just behind the gatehouse is also pretty much inaccessible. Mysterious place!

Situated next to A38 it is a very easy access hotel for a night if you are travelling to the Midlands. The room we had was spacious and comfy!
