It wasn’t quite new but very acceptable. Rooms were big enough. Shower downstairs a little bit small. Space around the villa was perfect. Pity there was no pool. We all enjoyed our stay in the villa. Perfect assistance of the owner and the house keeper. Very friendly and easy towards clients.

Belle grande villa relaxante près de la nature

Très belle grande villa avec multiples salles de bain et cuisine très complète avec des petites attentions pour nos déjeuners. Les grands jardins en fleurs et la grande terrasse et balcons invitent à la détente. Très calme. Stationnement sur la propriété très pratique. Hôte proactive. Nous aurions aimé y rester plus longtemps.

Un séjour inoubliable

Cet emplacement est magnifique. Nous avons séjourné 13 nuits en famille et avec des amis et avons adoré la villa. Nous avons découvert des plages extraordinaires, des restos excellents et des gens formidables. Les plages sont à proximité (besoin d’une voiture). Nous avons aussi profité de l’emplacement pour se faire de très bons soupers. Ce fut une expérience très emballante. Merci encore ! Je recommande fortement

Sehr schönes und gepflegtes Objekt. Kurzer Weg zum Strand, an dem wir zu dieser Jahreszeit praktisch alleine waren. Etwas Fluglärm (Einflugschneise), der aber nicht sehr laut und deshalb auch nicht störend ist. Ansonsten sehr ruhige Lage. Besonders gut: Sehr viele Sitz- und Liegemöglichkeiten rund ums Haus, immer wahlweise Sonne oder Schatten. Ausstattung der Küche könnte etwas besser sein (Besteck, Weingläser).

Amazing

The place is beautiful and peaceful. I came with a group and the stay was comfortable there was enough space for everyone and the host did everything in his power to accommodate us. I asked a lot of questions before booking and I appreciated the patience he had with me. Overall my experience was fantastic and I would not mind staying here again. Awesome Place for Groups!

The villa is located in a beautiful part of Crete. We were there during the major referendum on the Euro, and you would have never known it was a stressful time judging by the friendly and relaxed nature of the locals. The villa itself is great for large groups as it has big open spaces for getting together, but also has four separate and private bedrooms and many bathrooms. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any travelers.

Amazing

I had never been to Crete before and now I can't imagine staying anywhere else on the island. This property is in the middle of a large olive grove and near the beach. What's not to love? Beautiful bougainvillea surrounds the sitting area, there's a beautiful deck from which to watch the sunrise (if you're still jetlagged) or to watch the sunset. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hosts are superb and give you a fantastic introduction to the famous Cretan hospitality. There's also a kitchen and a lawn and multiple rentals on the spacious property, so if you rent just one unit you'll have your privacy but if you're coming with a larger group you can also create a festive compound. All around 5 stars.

Relaxing

A very big house with a lot of space, big rooms and a beautiful backyard. We had a very relaxing time a way from the big city. If you come to crete and want to live a bit private with a beautiful atmosphere this is the place.

Enchanting!

The setting is ideal truly surrounded by an olive grove which ensures quiet and privacy. The patio garden is lovely and you can see the sea from the upstairs bedrooms. There was plenty of room, linens and towels for family and friends. the house was super clean and gardeners came frequently. George responds immediately to email questions and provides good feedback. We will recommend this property to all.

Perfect house in a perfect setting!

Situated in the middle of a large olive tree plantation this house has a beautiful setting. Secluded but still very close to the main highway going through Crete from east to west, it is a perfect place for families looking for both the closeness to cities like Heraklion, wonderful beaches and nice activities in the surrounding countryside. Very friendly hosts made the stay even better. I will forever remember those wonderful summer nights watching the sun going down, sipping on some Margarita in the front yard of the house. My best recommendations on this house and its surroundings!

Just lovely

First things first... I was nervous about booking this Villa. I had all sorts of concerns because it only had a small handful of reviews and I had to transfer payment into the owners foreign bank account which is something I have never done and I knew that by doing this I had no back up if it didn't actually exist!! The owner even offered a Skype call with me beforehand to put my mind at rest. The Villa is really well located being just a 15 minute or so drive from Heraklion airport. The owners Uncle patiently waited for us so that we could follow him to the property in our hire car - we never would have found it otherwise as it's quite tucked away. It is spacious, clean and with all the facilities you expect from a holiday home (apart from a tin opener - I am sure George the owner can easily rectify this). I thought it was excellent value for money. The air con was appreciated and all rooms have fans too. Don't make the mistake of opening the patio doors at dusk on the first night - we were bitten to pieces and learnt our lesson. The terrace and gardens are very well kept and very pretty. My son befriended a small ginger cat that visited every day and christened him "Nikos". It really is a very short walk (10 minutes down a quiet road) to what must be one of the nicest stretches of sandy beach in the area and the swimming was a joy. Even my toddler managed the walk there and back (he's two and 2 months). I loved the Cretan food and it was great for my vegetarian husband. There are a bunch of restaurants in the nearby resorts to choose from. The nicest meal we had was in Analipsi at Volkano. The Rainbow tavern on the main road is probably the closest to walk to. Everywhere we went was incredibly child friendly. We also visited the Skotino cave above Gouves which is a lovely short drive. Knossos is only half an hour away by car. The aquarium is great on a hot day. My little boy loved the land train that goes through all the coastal resorts. The supermarkets in the resorts are pretty expensive - there is a Lidl on the main road on the way to Malia. On departure day the owner let us stay in the Villa longer than we would have expected as our flight wasn't until the late afternoon. This was very nice of him and really helpful for us. All in all a very memorable, relaxed and sunny holiday. Thankyou.

Great and wonderful place to stay !

Everything was as beautiful as it was decribed by our travelling-agency (novasol). The house is in the middle of an olivetree-forest and it takes a 10-minutes-walk to the sea. The beach was amazing. What I truly enjoyed was that it was not very touristic though Gouves and Analipsi weren't far away to have a place for shopping, car-rents or boat-trips to Santorini for example. The whole place was very calm and relaxing and only surrounded by a few other houses. You should keep in mind that the next supermarket is maybe a 15-30-Minutes-walk away or takes 5-Minutes-ride with the car. We had a car and so it wasn't a problem at all. The house had everything we needed. The bathrooms were clean, the rooms were very beautiful, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had great and good working equipment, every room had an air-condition and there was enough space to hang around outside on the balcony or terrace. The whole place was filled with flowers what was really beautiful. Me and my family truly enjoyed our stay there.

Unforgettable experience for my family

Great hospitality! Very well-designed village... Very nice personal, fantastic location. Big rooms with excellent view! The house was really nice and comfortable. George's uncle was there to greet us and he was really helpful for everything! We had wonderful 7 days there! Gouves is a perfect choice for families that travel with their children. The location is perfect to visit beaches and nature! The sea water is clear. Not overcrowded even in high season. The outside barbeque and the kitchen were great and the food we made there was excellent. George's uncle also gave us some olive oil to cook and raki to drink! All our family loved this holiday. The owner of the house, Giorgos was marvelous. He organized everything for us very fine. It was one of the best holidays of our family.

Great holiday in a pitoresque place

We have spent great holiday in the house of George. It is very well situated in between two villages in a calm surrounding in the middle of olive trees plantation. There was a nice and clean sand beach near by. The big local road is also not so far and there are buses to Heraclion and Hersonisos every 15 minutes. If one looks for calm holiday, it is really an ideal place. If one wants to discover the island it is easy to rent a little car for 25 euros in neighbouring village Analipsi. Bigger village Hersonisos is also not so far and offers plenty of night attractions and shops. We stayed in a little house just perfect for two. It is coasy and decorated in traditional way. We were delighted to prepare our own meals and to have our morning coffee on the open terrasse in front of the house. There are two more big houses in the compound. There were unoccupied at this time and we had the whole of the garden just for two of us. And the garden is well maintained and very beautiful. The oncle of George picked us up in the airport for free. He and his wife were very friendly and welcoming. We had an opportunity to taste their grown olives, tomatoes and grapes. Delicious! Perfect holiday

Our family of 6 consisting of adults and children spent two and a half wonderful weeks in the villa. The place was clean, comfortable and spacious with a beautiful outside area. Nestled in an olive orchard you could hide away and just relax, or go to the beach which is only 10 minutes away on foot and if you feel like it, you can join the more touristy attractions nearby that offer water activities, night clubs etc. We found it useful to rent a car while we were there to have the flexibility to go sightseeing or shopping, but there is a bus station nearby and as far as we understand the public transport is quite reliable. The facilities in the house allowed us to have beautiful family dinners including in the outside BBQ but we also enjoyed very much going out to enjoy the local restaurants and tavernas with their beautiful food. All in all we found that for a family with young and grown children and diverse interests, the house, its location and facilities and vicinity to cultural and entertaining sights worked perfectly. We all enjoyed our stay very much and are very happy to recommend it.

A very nice week in Gouvès

We rented this villa in april 2013 for a week. We were 2 families living there (2 adults and 2 kids in each). The owner is very nice and gave us a lot of information before our stay. As he doesn't live nearby, we were welcomed by his uncle. We could nevertheless reach him and he solved very quickly a small plumbing issue we had noticed (on the same day we informed him). The house is very clean and the garden is well taken care of. We had a very nice stay and we would recommand this house without second thoughts!

Cretan Villa in November

Our stay in Heraklion (close to Kato Gouves) was very very nice! The apartment was perfectly clean, spacious, light, airy, fully equipped and very comfortable. It really corresponded to the provided description! The house is conveniently close to the village center, the market and a number of bars, restaurants, tavernas. It's easy to go to Heraklion for culture, shopping or entertainment but it is also just on the sea. Its favourable position provides hosts with a wide selection of wonderful beaches both going toward Agios Nikolaos or Heraklion. The owners were very kind supporting us with travel indications and first local hints. We felt like at home and we will surely stay there in the future if we will have again the opportunity to visit Crete.
