10/10 Excellent

"We had such a lovely experience for one night - super friendly reception staff ( a French lady I believe), good drink service at the bar, room was more than adequate, pool & spa was excellent (my wife used it in the morning), and breakfast was excellent with lovely people managing the floor. ONE minor comment only on the food: the scrambled egg was a strange consistency. I've had the same in two HIs now and it's not very nice - but everything else was great! Thank you so much for a lovely stay!"

"There is no designated car parking, although there is a Council based car park behind the hotel, with a fee payable to the relevant authority. Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of tasty morsels supplied. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the bearded guy on the evening shift, he seemed to be check in, come chef, come waiter role, top marks to him. The room was clean and stocked with tea/coffee, hot chocolate would have been nice too if supplied. A toilet brush in the bathroom would have been useful."

"Lovely but needs some T LC. Nice pool .Would stay again as local to family. Pleasant staff. Room ok but could do a little better Seemed short staffed in some areas i.e. housekeeping and brasserie/kitchen. Staff responded to and resolved most issues with room and food that were below par! Issues that should not really have been present in the first place for any estabishment. Not wishing to be unfair but note should be taken by senior staff to improve when guests kindly advise manager of misgivings and problems with rooms etc. Not the fault of staff if they are untrained or short staffed and stretched. Stains on furniture in room. Cleaning missed one day. Brasserie has no windows. Not as nice in the brasserie as the photos suggest with high ceilings and 1970's offfice style polystyrene tiles some of which were missing. Shame is does not look out to grounds especially on a summer evening. Nice staff but not all had the professionalism expected The grandeur has slipped. One manager has tinted glasses.and no head for business. Opportunity missed of future business by this manager. I am sure if I had spoken to the gentleman on duty, the night before, the response to the suggestion of future work/events/bookings would have been more positive than "it's on the general website" at request for contact name and info. Reception 1st answer to concerns was to request I send in a email! I was infront of them! Ladies changing room is down winding stairs. Lovely pool,"

10/10 Excellent

"What a beautiful place to stay. Lovely hotel and grounds, easy access into Tring and surrounding countryside. We had a superior room with garden view - lovely room, nice amount of space, lovely bed and bathroom and partial views of the garden (room 344) 2 lads behind the bar were great, they certainly were kept busy as hotel is popular. Dinner was good quality - we had the inclusive menu as pre paid for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast also nice, but did have to wait around 20 minutes for poached and fried eggs, but good choice of cereals, full English, a few cheeses and pastries. Grounds are lovely, Tesla Ed atmosphere and loved the peacocks roaming everywhere. Would say the pool however is disappointing - very small, noisy (was lots of kids) and definitely needs a hot tub - plus point was going straight from the pool onto outside loungers, to soak up some sun. Also I loved the decor throughout- some really cool paintings and also learnt a little history of the place. Late check out up to 6pm also a plus point. Hope to return again"
