The setting was lovely n tranquil but dirty windows obscured maybe due to it becoming winter, lovely walks, if you didn't want to eat in it was a nice lil hamlet to explore.

We had a small problem with the room but the owner was very apologetic and gave us an alternative room. Very welcoming owners. Good breakfast served on hot plates!!! Evening meal was cooked to order and very good.

Hotel is run by James and Susan with some additional staff. The check in was quick and friendly, our room clean with view of the river, good shower. We ate twice in the evening and food was good. Breakfast was in the Admiral's room which was well decorated, bright and atmospheric. The building dates back to 1422 and has had several extensions and repurposed from the original court house to an Admiralty rest house to hotel and pub. The external fabric could do with some maintenance and decoration. Would book again.

Unique hotel built in 1422. Lots of history. The owner was extremely helpful, courteous and regaled us with stories about the place. A very homey feeling. Loved it.
