“Nine adults and 2 little kids for Thanksgiving out of town. This cabin provided a large kitchen, separated sleeping spaces, and lots of warm water. The cabin met all our needs which were a large room to gather in, a large meal prep area, and plenty of seating. We enjoyed being side together and took the short trip to Moab, Arches, and Canyonlands.”

“Picture's do absolutely no justice to this house and its surroundings, The owners were gracious and checked on us several times. Outside temps hit 17 and the inside was nice and cozy. Only thing I would change was having more time to spend there. Will be going back. The view of the Dolores river out the back is nothing short of amazing.”

“A great place to escape to. Clean, comfortable and charming. The drive to the cabin has some steep sections but the road is well graded. We used the cabin as our base for exploring Needles District of the Canyon Lands National Park. Only disappointment was not staying longer than two nights.”

“This is the perfect location for a home base. We were an hour from Mesa Verde, Hovenweep, Arches, Canyonlands-Needles District, and Natural Bridges. There was even more within a 90 minute drive. Our problem is we didn't book a longer vacation. The view of the Abajo Mountains from the living room was awesome. There was a hawk nesting in one of the pines in the back yard. Our first afternoon at the house a group of 9 mule deer came into the yard, and after they left a second group of 11 wandered……

“The Western Town Retreat was a great choice for our family reunion of 22 people, ages 3 to 67. There was plenty of room for everyone, the apartments in the Horse Barn were roomier than expected. There was a large flat top gas grill that made cooking for 22 much easier than anticipated. The play area for the kids had a tree house, playground, and tetherball. There was a lot of imaginative play time happening out there. We loved the wide open space in the Horse Barn for games and meal time. The……

“Great place for a family reunion--clean, lots of beds, a great pond to play in, not many mosquitoes, not many people around, and terrific scenery! The only drawback was the generator kept coming on-perhaps more solar panels are needed? Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for a great reunion!!”

“This house was perfect for our group of three couples. The view of the snowy mountains from the large living room window or the back door sitting area was awesome! There is no conventional oven and limited dishes which made cooking and eating meals here a bit challenging, but we managed. We especially liked the location, less than one and a half hours to South Canyonland National Park area (the Needles and Elephant Hill) , which we were thankfully able to hike. We started the hike at 10 AM, but……

“This is obviously an older hotel but it has been maintained very well and was very clean. It was close to canyonlands where we were going and montecello is much quieter to stay in than moab. We will stay here again next time we go to canyonlands ❤️”

“Old and needs renevating”

“The directions are not clear for guests arriving after sundown. Google coordinates would be best. Also after almost an hour of searching I found the very small green sign that said Wunder Camp before the Domes sign. However, I never checked in bc upon arriving the mud was so sticky and thick around camp due to heavy rainfalls this past week. I understand the weather and nature, but maybe applying gravel, sand, or wood chips on paths? I even paid the additional pet fee, but I didn’t want to deal……
