“This is not a 4star hotel as described, it’s just a tired old pub that has some accommodation. The ‘deluxe’room that we had booked had stained carpets,sofa and cushions and was very basic. The two small bath towels and one hand towel provided were frayed. The menu is very basic in the pub. I had a pizza that was inedible as it tasted mouldy and looked horrible. “We stayed at the Pilsley Inn for one night to see Chatsworth on our way to Manchester. The pub food and service were great. We had 2 meals (dinner and breakfast) and both service and food were really very good. Servers and staff were attentive and hospitable. The location is also excellent. “Cheap price for a room for the night but the rooms are in quite poor repair and are in desperate need of refurbishment. There are areas of widespread damage on the walls especially in the bathroom and the shower drains incredibly slowly. The doors bang when they shut so if you have late returning neighbours that may wake you and while there is a chain on the door, there's not a double lock which I don't personally like. “Room was pretty shabby , needing refurbishment but very clean. The mattress was very soft and could do with replacing. As the room was painted in dark colours it made it feel very small but the lighting over the bed made reading comfortable. The room I had overlooked the outside beer garden which had lights on all night. The shutters did not keep the light out. As a woman on her own I noticed there was no bolt or chain from the inside but I did feel safe. The bar downstairs was really pleasant……
