「Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. 「We loved the older Country Club charm. It was beautiful to look out at the water from our room and walk to the castle ruins. The dining is charming as well! Great spot for quietness. We will come back!」

「This is a very old characterful property, with low beams etc. Venue was chosen for a small family reunion and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The staff were all very polite, helpful and patient which adds to the enjoyment. The food was really excellent and thanks to the chef none of our group had any complaints, Definitely recommend.」

「Stayed for one night, which happened to be the hottest night of the year. Not the hotels fault, but the window in the room would not open. Hotel did supply fans but made little difference. Major issue was after a night in a 30 degree room there was no water for a shower, or the toilet. Spoke to manager who was stressed but apologetic who said the mains were off due to an issue which he hoped would be fixed at some point….
