「Overall a great experience, the staff were extremely helpful and polite. First morning no fruit or yogurt at breakfast and second morning got our breakfasts completely wrong. The room was really nice and the bed very comfortable, I would definitely stay again.」

「Great location, free parking and easy walk up to the small town centre and surrounding countryside. Staff were very helpful. Nice old property but a little dull sometimes and lacked character. Clean though. There were issues with water pressure, effecting showers etc. this was explained on arrival, so was not a surprise. Breakfast was unexciting and just ‘okay’ with overcooked scrambled eggs, dry bacon and a pot of beans that was more juice than beans. A comfortable stay despite the quibbles.」

「Room was lovely . Clean spacious high tech fittings warm and some lovely bathroom accessories. Alex the manager went over and above to make us feel welcome as did Rebecca on arrival . The food was really delicious by chef Rag Thank you for our Christmas stay and we’ll be back. Doro Jillings」

「All clean and ready, but I woke up freezing and had to double up my duvet. The fire light was also very bright and I found it hard to get to sleep and to get to sleep again. 」

「Lovely location and hotel. Spa pretty busy so hard to use facilities or find somewhere to really relax. Restaurant is fine but vegetarian options very limited. A mini bar/fridge in room would be nice. My the time we went to have tea in the morning the milk on the countertop was warm and a bit spoilt. 」

「The rooms certainly need an upgrade, and perhaps facilities for a late night drink and something to eat. But the grounds are lovely and it’s walkable from most big tourist areas. 」

「Nice clean place, staff very friendly, if a little under staffed, could do with additional staff in my opinion, but the staff I encountered remained positive and very helpful. atmosphere is good, the food was good, all in all I had a pleasant stay. If leaving before the main pub entrance is open, the route out to the car park could do that lighting, it’s very dark exiting via that route. 」

「Our stay at the Jack Russell was very enjoyable. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view. However, the lighting was very subdued which is relaxing but it would have been useful to have more efficient reading lamps. The breakfast bar was good but it would have been nice to have a selection of nuts and seeds and full fat natural yoghurt. 」

「Great little pub with large outside seating area. Pizza night Fridays & very nice too. Room very comfy a little warm being at the top of the building but had a good air con fan. Probably not a common problem in this part of the world!!!」

「Decor is beautiful & the bathroom stunning. Easy access & communication was great. The bed for us was very uncomfortable and far too firm. The duck down feather pillows were too soft & offered no support. The bath was the best feature. Breakfast & room facilities were good too and the property is nice & close to the centre. Parking not too far away either. 」
