“River’s Bend was one of our favorite western VA cabin stays to date. Its location is unique - remote enough for dark skies and the sounds of wildlife, with the thrill of the train when it makes its way through the tunnel under the property. The cabin is so cozy, the beds firm and very comfortable. I slept so well every night. We loved the screened in porch, and the river lookout off the tiered back deck. The host assured our comfort with plenty of blankets, pillows and quilts. Everything was……

“The cottage was clean, well-equipped, attractively furnished and in a wonderful location. We especially enjoyed eating on the deck and visiting with the horses each evening with the backdrop of mountains.The hosts were gracious and helpful, responding immediately to a slight problem we had with the front door lock on arrival.”

“Let me just say, this house was amazing! We felt like famous people in this property. The house is beautiful and super clean! Everyone love the basement so much ! We were celebrating my wife 50th birthday and she decorated the tabes so nice! The power went down and we only noticed cause the generator turn on! I highly recommend this property ! The only thing is there is no cellphone signal at least for us that we have AT&T! I would love to stay again in this property in a heartbeat ”

“This place was great for our needs! It had three separate bedrooms with comfortable beds, making it ideal for a group or family. Access was generally easy, though it may be a bit challenging for anyone with mobility issues due to the stairs. The front door was a bit tricky—it required a firm push to open. There was a slight cat odor, possibly from a previous guest, but it wasn’t overwhelming. Overall, these were minor issues and didn’t take away from the experience. I would definitely stay here……

“The overall stay and communication was fine. I guess in all of my years renting properties I was never, ever upcharged for sheets and towels. Totally blown away by this. We arrived late in the evening to discover all 9 beds have no sheets and there are no towels in the bathrooms. That was a 230 upcharge. My fault for not reading the fine print. Wow. Never again.”

“This cabin was perfectly comfortable! Fresh, clean, well equipped, serene, and cared for by such thoughtful hosts. Dog friendly was a huge bonus for us and our pups loved it, also! With the hiking trails and pond on property, you never have to leave. We will definitely come back to this little slice of heaven! ”
