Family Reunion

We have stayed at Ted's homes many times before but this house was just extraordinary! Right on the beach plenty of deck space comfortable beds and we had a wonderful time!

We had such a great week! Everything we needed was within walking distance. Plenty for the teenagers to do as well. Waking up and watching the surfers was a highlight. House is well stocked and had everything we needed! We will definitely be back!

Family Vacation

This was a perfect house for our family vacation. Everything you need is provided even a pack n play for the baby. We were able to park the cars and walk to everything you needed. This is the best vacation house we have ever stayed at and hope to stay there again.

The location of the property is great. It’s near many restaurants, coffee shops, and attractions. We still had a ton of room to ourself on the beach even though we were very close to the pier and public beach access. We would definitely stay here again. Communication with the property owner was great.

Great location and house

We had a lot of fun on the beach, the balcony, in town, and with the rental we very satisfied. The house could of been a little more cleaned up and the comforters needed washing.

The perfect place to say on the NC coast

There is no better location than this in Surf City or anywhere near. Directly on the beach, near the pier, right by the coffee shops and ice cream stores and restaurants and shops. Plenty of beds, five bedrooms, open living/dining room on the top floor, elevator to make it easy to get your bags and stuff upstairs. Plenty of parking under the house. Perfect for large gatherings or just a quiet get-away to watch the waves.

Dolphins, waves, beach access ... what more can you want?

We love this place! Okay, so there’s a restaurant right next door, but you hardly notice, AND you will really want to eat there once or twice (Daddy Macs - good food and so convenient)! We also found some great pizza and jalapeño poppers at Santorini’s, awesome nachos with pulled pork at Shaka Tacos (right across the street from our rental) and a great bakery for bread and pastries (Xanadu). The house is so awesome and has everything you could need (even some towels, if you’re willing to do laundry). The community pool is not heated, so it was closed during our visit (in November), but it looks great. However, we lucked out with wonderful weather (mid 60’s to mid 70’s the whole week). There is direct beach access, so we walked each day, dipped our feet in the ocean (yes, it was chilly, but fun), and collected rocks and sea shells. Plus, the house has 2 floors with decks facing the ocean. From the 3rd floor, you’ll have the best view from the tall chairs; we ate our meals out there! We actually saw dolphins playing and swimming up very close to the surfers!! The pier is just a stone’s throw away, so you can watch the fishermen by day and the pier lights at night. It’s a beautiful area and the close proximity to everything means you can leave your vehicle under the carport and get your daily 10,000 steps in! Furthermore, if you’re too tired to climb all those stairs at the end of the day, the house has an elevator (which made unloading and loading the truck a breeze). The owners, Ted and Deb, are really nice. They did everything they could to accommodate us during our trip. I can’t recommend them AND “Hook, Wine and Sinker” enough! -Dave & Susan- (Missouri)

Summer Escape to Surf City

Wow. Amazing! Beautiful location for sure. Can walk to everything. The Elevator was a must for us due to older travelers. It was a God send. Our host, Ted, was the absolute best. I would rent from him again. He made all the difference. Only suggestion comments would be the pool could be larger to accommodate 8 units and out main patio sliding door handle was broken off (very difficult to open). This door used many times during the day. I WOULD REBOOK WITH TED IN A HEARTBEAT! Thank you for a memory making vacation!!!

Family Vacay 2025

Ted is a great host and tended to every need as quickly as possible. The house was in a great location, as everything is walkable. All 21 of us had a wonderful, carefree stay at both units which are just steps from the beach. The pool and elevator are also wonderful amentities that were definitely utilized. We would surely come back!

The Perfect Family Getaway

I vacationed here with my extended family, in ages ranging from 4 - 75, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment I booked Ted went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - friendly and full of tips.The house was amazing - clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. It was spacious enough for all 10 of us to feel at home.The biggest highlight is the location - just out your door and there's the beach. Plus, there's always something to do in the area - restaurants, shops, kid's activities. I would highly recommend!

Fully furnished and well equipped house located on the beach in Surf City. The neighborhood offers easy access to everything. Right in the heart of Surf City and walking distance to pier, restaurants, souvenir shopping, grocery's, ice cream, coffee shops and more. Beach access was a breeze and the heated pool was a added bonus. There's nothing like waking up to beach views everyday. Full kitchen is stocked with dishes/pots and pans and all other necessities. The Host was responsive to all questions and went out of his way to check in with us and provide basic check in and out procedures. Everyone including the dogs had a wonderful time, I would stay here again.

Comfortable and Convenient

This property met our needs exactly for a small family reunion, plus remote work for my husband. The owner worked with us on a very last minute reservation and was highly responsive and proactively engaged to make sure our visit went well. Most notable was the comfortable bedding, amazing ocean view/beach access, and convenient location in the middle of Surf City. The custom bunk beds were especially appreciated, as they accommodate full-sized adults without wobbling or squeaking. We'll be back if we're ever in the area again!

Great location and house!

So many wonderful things about this house! Location - could walk to restaurants, Inis Spa (the best), stores, and easy walk down to the beach from the house stairs. Having 3 king size bed suites was ideal, lots of room and privacy. The elevator was a great feature, and necessary for our group.I enjoy going to a home which looks like a home, with comfortable furniture, nice decor, and plenty of kitchen gear and spices, etc. The view was AMAZING! Finally, communication with the owners was smooth and very accommodating! Definitely recommend this terrific home!

This is our second year in Ted's unit. Great location is an under statement, with grandkids it so easy to walk and get ice cream or shaved ice. Local restaurants within walking distance, but busy. Great views of the ocean and the pool is a great hit. The elevator is great for moving in and out.

Best location on the island. Walking distance to many restaurants, shops (clothing, ice cream, coffee, candy) and grocery store. Beautiful view of the ocean and pier. On-site pool was large enough for all 8 units. The kitchen was well stocked with paper products and condiments. The living space accommodated our large family.
