"This was a beautiful hotel! There is currently works with scaffolding up and I was originally given a room with two small windows, with the addition of scaffolding, which made the room dark. Also, it had a wet room, which would not have suited us. I called the reception immediately and they very kindly changed my room. They explained that as it was half term they were fully booked. I did say that I booked a deluxe room and I didn't know if I was getting what I paid for. He very kindly checked to see I there were any rooms to upgrade to but there were only suites available, which would have cost considerably more.
The new room was up in the eaves, but it was a beautiful room, clean, great amenities. I was glad to be in the eaves , although the route we had only had a lift to the second floor, with stairs to the fourth, (we were able to manage the stairs) there were only two rooms. Which was nice and quiet until the slam of the door of the neighbouring room; I was happy we were not on a corridor. I also did call down for a problem accessing the WiFi, which a member of staff swiftly rectified and when I requested water, it came up quickly.
The dinner and breakfast buffet were great, fresh. The dinner buffet was small, but did have a menu before you pay and there were pizzas one offer as an alternative, with the al a carte restaurant, which I was told needed to be booked in advanced especially as it was so busy. All staff were very helpful and friendly."
