Amazing hostel. I really enjoy my stay here. Owner Glenn is so helpful, resourceful and kind to have a chat. The volunteers Kasia and Dan are lovely to talk with. It feels a very cosy hostel, not too crowded, noisy and neither a party hostel. I was visiting for tourism and leisure and while many of the guests staying here for work or business, there were no issues. And Glenn kindly helped to sorted out a minor issue in the room very effectively. Just a note there is no stove but a microwave and a slow cooker pot. Good wifi. Perfect location

I arrived a little late.. But was accommodated very well..and by welcoming staff, had a very comfortable stay/sleep in a double deluxe room. Great place and for the price you really can't go wrong. Would definitely book there again 100℅ Aka single female travelling with dog. And they are, also dog friendly 👍 Thank you guys x😁

Located next to Hull Minster so it's extremely easy to find it. The area is safe, my room was clean and comfortable , mattress was pleasant. Daniel was very helpful and friendly so I felt like home. I got stuff from Tesco Express, which is just opposite, for dinner and breakfast. There are also in-house options for breakfast, in case you wish to use them , at a small fee and there is a fridge as well. I really enjoyed my stay and I would love to be back soon for a few more days.

There is a multistorey car park across the road which in July 26 was £9.50 for up to 24 hours. Maybe could have got parking much cheaper by moving the car to the street after 6pm and again at 8:30am back to the multistorey but didn't want to mess about. Breakfast across the road at the Italian was superb! As is their coffee. The accommodation would benefit from the carpet replacing, a second opening window installing and another fan plus a furniture move around to provide more usable space. A very handy location overall.

Wonderful location slap in the middle of Hull. Its a no frills accommodation but satisfying and i would recommend staying here as we have done for the last 4 years

Glenn was absolutely fantastic, warm and made you feel like a million pounds. Location is great, I recommend The Deep. The rooms were clean and quiet. Easy check in process and a real feel good factor about the place. I can’t fault it.

After my travel plans were disrupted due to train strikes, the venue was perfect for my needs ... A straightforward room, somewhere to rest my head for the night and the venue delivered.

Great stay, a last minute decision for a night in Hull. We had our own room with en-suite & we couldn’t fault it. Full use of kitchen on 2nd floor if needed. Staff couldn’t be nicer. Very convenient multi story car park opposite (cost us £9.50 to park overnight). Would definitely go back again 👍

Apologies for the honest reviews but I guess it would help the backpacker to decide where they want to stay. Pros: Ensuite Near to city centre Opposite of Tesco Next to church Cons: Room is too small WiFi wasn’t good Water system wasn’t good No clear picture of rooms just the bed Upon my request for early access as I was leaving early next day. It should be written on website that WiFi is not working as a traveller we need good connectivity. So, would may be prefer Air bnb as I paid a lot of amount for small room.

Fleas or something that bites!!!!!!!

Sadly I had a terrible stay at this backpackers. Booked 2 nts, only stayed 1 nt, felt I was being attacked on bottom bunk bed, moved to upper bed near window, not as bad, felt something in hair and bitten!!!! Alarm bells were ringing, when I arrived and the gentleman went to make up my bunk and took the dog up too!!!! would not recommend. Stayed in Lincoln 1 nt £80, had to be done.

Owner can’t take constructive criticism

I enjoyed Hull city backpackers because of the cheap price Walls weee wafer thin and you could hear other people snore in the private room Owner doesn’t like constructive criticism as got a terse answer on another review site when I left a review. Modern language has moved on beyond gender and so it would be good if the property owner learned the correct term for how to address non binary people as I did give instructions in my booking. Most modern private rooms in hostels have a television which unfortunately this property does not and you have to use headphones on laptops and phones after 10 pm despite you being able to hear what everyone else is doing in other private rooms because of the thin walls . Nice chimes from Hull minster day and night which are relaxing Hostel is in the Old town area of Hull and can be noisy at night Good value property but could do with a few tweaks to make it perfect
