Hurricane is the more economical place to stay if you're visiting Zion. There are several dining options, and gas is relatively cheap.

Close to Zion (~40 min) w/o high $ in the park (Springdale). Great after Zion and then drive back to Vegas for flight . Town was recommended when 8" snow predicted for Zion. We got rain. Amazing food at Main Street Cafe.

If you got any closer to Zion, the prices went up, so we chose Hurricane despite the distance. Nice town. Clean, and stuff to do.
