“Thank you for the great stay, the rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. Kettle right in the room was so convenient. Check in was easy! Loved the breakfast in the morning. The surroundings were lovely, especially watching the horses. Also booked a 2 hour seaside tour and it was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful! Its also a short drive to Husavik where there were restaurants and other amenities, so very convenient location as well.”

“Several touches are included to help us navigate in the house, e.g. labels in kitchen cabinets and map to a short walk to see sea lions :-) We found everything clean and organized, thank you. However, one big problem occured after dinner: guest had to queue for shower since only one was available.”

“This is the standard of a general hotel, but it has no characteristics. There is no problem with receptionist service, but the computer system needs improvement. We paid for the room when we made the reservation, but they said no, it took a long time to find the payment record. The next day when we checked out, another staff member asked us to pay again. Take some time to explain and check again.”

“This was, by far, the BEST place we stayed in all of Iceland on our 30-day visit where we booked 7 different hotels. We basically had the most beautiful 2-bedroom house to ourselves and the cost was unbelievably cheap. We stayed only 2 nights and if I had to do it again, I would have skipped the 3 day hotel in Akureyri and just traveled from here. Holmavad is a great place to just stay and relax and was wasted on us since we spent all day exploring. This house offers horses, sheep, and 2……

“This was one of the most anticipated stops along our road trip. We were only able to stay one night due to availability but we would have loved to stay longer. The place was very quiet, peaceful and romantic. The space was mindfully designed and very visually appealing. I can tell the owner out a lot of thought into the interior design. The heated floors + heated towel rack made the place even more cozy. We enjoyed the stars in the jacuzzi but unfortunately didn’t see the northern lights……
