Brunswick James Oglethorpe Monument Hotels

"Checked in for one night traveling up 95. We got there at nearly midnight but the gal at the front desk was there and very kind. Rooms are dated but nice and spacious, looks like they have done renovations. Shower was nice and hot in the morning. There was a continental breakfast of waffles and toast and things but we did not try any of it as we had other breakfast plans. Coffee in the lobby 24/7. Check out was a breeze, the gentleman was also very nice and friendly. You can tell they really care about their place! One thing that no one else noted- no elevator, had to take stairs to second floor. Not a big deal for us but could be for someone else. "

"This place is not what you would expect from a comfort inn and suites. The place is old. My shower was ROUGH. Whole place is in need of an update. AC was running constant and room was still damp and humid. Spend your money elsewhere"

"Host was great and quick to respond to any questions. Cabin was cozy and takes you back in time when life was simple. ONLY issue was the tiny and I mean tiny shower. Over all stay was great!"

"La Playa was ideal for adult-sisters getaway. The home is private, clean and comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked. Located within walking (or a short drive) distance to shopping and restaurants in historic downtown Brunswick. I highly recommend taking a drive to explore St. Simons and Jekyll islands."

"The Kress was an amazing surprise for my wife and I during a quick overnighter to meet up with some old childhood friends. I grew up in this area and the downtown district had been forgotten. It was great to see this place back to life. The Kress has done an excellent job restoring this old department store. The rooms are incredible with large common space and bedrooms. I wished we had booked an extra night. "

"What a true diamond in the rough !! If you troll your VRBO prospects on google maps before making your selection, do not be fooled by the austere exterior of this offering . It is in a quiet Old Town neighborhood but only 3 blocks from “ downtown “. Wonderful watering holes and restaurants on every block . The unit has high ceilings , two large rooms that are perfectly functionally furnished and a more than adequate bath . I enjoyed my 3 night stay and will keep it on my short list . If you are a boater who visits or keeps your boat at The Brunswick Landing Marina , this place is a perfect choice . "
