"Our room was so nasty we left and drove home. Mold, stained carpet and the smell on the whole third floor was musty. The front desk told me they knew that room was in terrible shape. "

"The hotel is going through some upgrades, but I don't believe they have completed the work. The rooms have been upgraded, however I am not terribly impressed. Good size rooms, but too stark and sterile. Scale of furniture is off for size of room. They could also use some area rugs to warm up the otherwise sterile feeling. Looks like it was designed on a dime. Staff was polite and helpful. I had prepaid my room but they charged me twice and held $700 on my debit card for over 5 days which is not cool. Area was convenient for my reasons to be there, but there is nothing going on at night. It's a little depressing."

"Terrible experience. Southbank Hotel was under construction, after being bought out by Marriott. This was not disclosed to me by hotels.com or Marriot when I made reservation. When I say under construction, I don’t mean slight construction I mean, heavy construction, and total remodel. The carpets were filthy. The hotel was understaffed in the housekeeping department so if you wanted a refresh of your room or total clean, you had to ask for it at the front desk. We had to wait on towels two days. I would say the only decent place in the hotel was the bar lounge area. On our second night there at 1:30 in the morning the fire alarm goes off so evacuation was needed. The person at the front desk told us if the fire alarm goes off again don’t worry we have the engineer here to turn it off immediately. We were outside for almost an hour. He also told us that this had happened several times. Speaking of staff most were nice and tried to be accommodating. This by far is the worst experience we’ve had with a hotel and especially a Marriott hotel."

"I had a fantastic stay! The host’s attention to detail really stood out, from the thoughtful touches around the space to how well everything was organized and prepared for my arrival. It made settling in feel effortless and comfortable right away. The hospitality was equally impressive. Communication was smooth, friendly, and prompt, and it was clear the host genuinely cared about making sure I had a great experience. Everything felt welcoming and well thought out. Overall, a wonderful place to stay, and I would absolutely come back again!"

"Property was clean, well decorated with very comfortable beds. Neighborhood is great for dog walking and easy parking along the road. Check in and check out were as described. The communication with the property management after arrival was a challenge. There was an issue with the TV and messages were left without a response. (We later learned two of the messages were sent to an incorrect phone system still listed on VRBO.) Initially the property manager did not take the issue seriously but the General Manager later engaged to resolve the issue. She personally visited and validated there was an issue and the TV would need to be replaced. She also committed to refund a portion of the reservation and would communicate that to me by Monday but as of today (Wednesday), no additional communication has been received. I value the quality of both the accommodation and the service I receive when I travel and although the property met expectations, the communication with management was lacking. I wish the next renter a much better experience. "
