"Overall experience at The Lake house was great. It was a perfect location, somewhat remote but a 15 minute drive to the market and 20 minutes to Pepperdine. Two pieces of feedback that would have made it a five star stay:1. Screen doors on the sliding doors (2nd floor and the bedrooms). Specifically the one bedroom where there is no window to open. The second floor where the kitchen is also critical because of all of the bugs that come in. TONS came in while cooking dinner, attracted to the smells and the light. 2. Someone from the company showed up unannounced around 11:30 and scared the crap out of my young teens. I was at the market and he just showed up and let himself in. I appreciated the quick response once I reached out and apology, however, I should have been called immediately rather than have to reach out myself and well, it just should not have happened at all. Even with those cons, my family would stay there again when we need a weekend away to visit our daughter at school."

"Great property which fully met our needs. Nestled in the mountains above Malibu but easy to find and only a few minutes drive to the beach. Communication with property manager was easy and she was able to accommodate additional requests that we had. We really enjoyed it and would stay again"

"We had a nice time at this property. Pros: we liked the location and beach access. It was quiet and peaceful. I’m glad the property was pet friendly and close to nice restaurants. The appliances were high-end and beds were comfortable. Cons: property needs some minor repairs (sliding door comes off the track, slow draining shower). Overall we enjoyed our stay! "

"The room was ice cold when we came in. We figured out that there were 2 thermostats one in the bedroom and one in the main area so we were able to adjust the temp. I would much rather have a nice cold room than hot one. Everything seemed very clean. The bed was firm but comfortable. It was decently quiet.The location is very walking friendly with shopping and food close by, right next door to Trader Joe's and other prepared food. The stay also includes a free breakfast. They had a very nice selection for breakfast, not just Continental with pastries. We will definitely use this hotel in the future. "

"The host was so gracious they really made our trip feel special with easy communication and understanding. Check-in & Check-out were very easy and not stress inducing!! We had a lovely 3 day trip and enjoyed the many amenities they had to offer!"
