“I stayed 4 nights in a double room. Very neat and tidy. Excellent pub (separate from my room 👍). Got a bit hot at night (record temperatures), aircon may be a good idea these days. I had a pleasant time. The pub and the staff are wonderful btw. ”

“The staircase to our room is winding, and I need to go up and down before arriving at my room. The wall is thin and is not very sound proof, so I can hear what next door's saying and TV noise. It could be disturbing to someone during time for bed. There could be some seepage at the bath tub as there was a pool of water on the toilet floor after my shower, even though there was a glass door to stop water from splashing over to the floor. The car park is conveniently placed. The English breakfast……

“Free parking, so big that local vintage car club used it as meeting point. Enjoyed the duck for dinner and cooked breakfast in the morning. Room was bigger than expected, clean and quiet. Some parts looked like they needed redecorating but it is an old coaching inn. Only ten minutes from Dyrham Park.”

“Friendly pub with good accommodation. A bit noisy at times from the road and people leaving very early. Breakfast was lovely and included in price ”

“Breakfast was a bit confusing with everyone trying to get breakfast at the same time, but having said that the breakfast was very nice. Would definately stay there again.”

“It is a nice hotel with character. The staff are very welcoming, especially the gentleman on reception who was extremely helpful and very engaging. The room was comfortable with a good bathroom and bed - perfect hardness of mattress - and very quiet. Dinner was good - a perfectly cooked piece of cod in an interesting sauce and good ice-cream. The wine selection lacks French wine by the glass completely and in general there are far too many New World wines - why this common obsession? European……

“Big pub on the promenade. Room was large and clean with all the basic amenities. Cheap and cheerful place for a short stay.”

“Attic room, was nice, however not so great if you are tall. Even at 5ft 8, and partner 6ft 3 spent alot of time bent over avoiding hitting our heads. Bath was spectacular! Room was warm, and restrictors on the windows, so unable to get any air flow. Bed very comfy! Cafetiere and Illy coffee was a lovely touch Was a bit disappointed breakfast was included, but had to.pay extra £4 each for a full english. Food was good though. Staff super lovely.”
