Nice house!

Nicely furnished and equipped house that is also pet friendly. Within short walking distance to the beach, Publix, putt putt, Goombays, Bagels and, of course, Duck Donuts

Fun place to stay!

Mermaid Way was a wonderful place to stay for friends and family. We were at the beach everyday which was only a short walk from the house. There were so many activities at the house and surrounding area we could have used a second week of vacation. A wonderful time was had by all.

Overall great time

We really enjoyed our stay! The home was exactly as described and there was plenty to do in the house and in the area to keep everyone entertained. The home could have been cleaned better and the traffic noise was annoying at times but it wasn’t awful. We’d stay there again.

Amazing and relaxing

Our stay at this property was fantastic! There was a grocery store right across the street, the beach was also right down the street! It was a very enjoyable walk to the beach as well! Everyone was friendly too! The pool was me of the best highlights of the stay! The kids loved the pool and all the toys provided 10/10! Highly recommend!!! We will be going back

Spring Break in the OBX

This house provided an excellent location for a vacation in the OBX! We enjoyed every part of this house from the heated pool to the family fun game room. With a bathroom adjoining every bedroom, it gave our kids some needed alone space. This house will be our go to for future trips to the Outer Banks.

Fabulous weekend!

Our stay here was wonderful! The host was very responsive with the few questions we had! The hot tub and pool were perfect! Very close walk to the beach and great restaurants! Highly recommend this place for your OBX vacation!!

Lovely home in a prime location

We had a wonderful time staying at Mermaid Way! It is a beautiful home and truly is in a phenomenal location. It was great having all private bathrooms. The beds were comfy and the kitchen is spacious and well stocked. The house is super close to Jockey's Ridge, Wright Brothers Memorial, tons of stores, and a quick stroll to the beqch access.

We had a very nice stay. The cleaning company could have done a little better, but it was nothing major. The rooms are very nice. The pool was great. Location is rather noisy due to traffic. House is very conveniently located to everything OBX.

Excellent Spring Break

We had a lovely time at this property which was close to everything we wanted to explore. Loved having the grocery store and mini golf nearby. The heated pool and hot tub were used everyday. The street traffic noise was very loud when relaxing by the pool or on street side bedrooms.

Family wedding in Manteo

We had a great stay at Mermaid Way! We had a few issues that were reported to the property manager. A new washing machine was delivered Saturday, but we didn’t need to use it. We really enjoyed the hot tub!!!! Thanks for a great stay!

Family Vacation

It was amazing the house was awesome and the owners were very nice. We had great communication with them the entire week. My grandson loves the beach and it close we went every day except Thursday due to the weather. He also loved the pool he is a water monkey. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with family it was close to alot of sightseeing which we also did. Thank you again for the great week --The Baldwins and Hess's

Nice house

We enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful, but hot tub and showers weren’t clean. Rest of house was nice. Close to beach but on a busy road and could hear the traffic all the time. Really the only bad part about our stay, and our fault we didn’t look at the map to locate proximity to other landmarks other than the beach. Owner/property manager was very responsive and even offered us late check out with no charge since no future guest checking in right after us.

50th birthday celebrations

The house was beautiful loved it but did have some issues with the shower tubs in 2 of the bedrooms that the drain didnt work, informed the owner of the house and was told they would have maintenance there the next day but never showed the whole week we were there also mold on the shower curtain as well but never got changed. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay very nice to have access to alot of shopping areas

Overall Great Stay

Overall this was a great place to stay. The house and kitchen were well stocked with stuff you'd need. Every bedroom has a bathroom. The pool and hot tub are nice. You are minutes away from stores to buy anything you need. It's an easy walk to the beach even with toddlers / young kids. You can drive your car down and park near the beach if you don't want to walk. I recommend doing this early in the morning because parking fills up fast. The beach is great and you are right by a lifeguard which is nice when you are there with kids. There are a few things that we didn't like about the house. The cleaners beforehand could do a better job. There was mold on the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom and some mold on the floor vents in the kids' downstairs bathroom. It didn't bother us much but some people might freak out. All the bedrooms besides one are downstairs and above the downstairs bedroom is the living area and kitchen. If you are trying to sleep downstairs (or have kids that you are trying to get to sleep) and people are still awake and moving around upstairs you can hear it in the bedrooms. For most people, this wouldn't be a big deal but we did need to play white noise for the kids when they slept. We knew from reading other reviews before we stayed that the house was next to a busy road. The traffic noise is pretty loud. That didn't bother us too much but sometimes it was annoying especially when sitting outside at night trying to have a conversation.

We went to a family wedding. The venue was very close. We spent most of our stay at mermaid way. Everything was just a pictured in VRBO. We enjoyed the amenities. And would recommend this 100%.

Great home to spend the week at , no major issues, but the back stairs to the pool area could use some TLC ,splinters. Great kitchen, everything we needed , loved the pool where we spent a lot of time !
