Summary:

The Saltaire Cottages is a quaint, semi-ocean front property located at milepost 2.5 in Kitty Hawk, NC. This landmark has been welcoming families to the Outer Banks for over 50 years!



There are 1-4 bedroom cottages that each have a full kitchen, family room and screened in balcony. Our private beach access is directly across the street and a beautiful pool with elevated sun decks is on site. Each unit has heat/air, TV's, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig, toaster, pots/pans, dishes and silverware



The Space:

This 3 bed / 2 bath cozy cottage offers all the amenities of a small house in a beautiful and peaceful environment.



The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. This cottage has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large screened in porch. There are flat screen TVs and cable TV.

You can stroll to some great local restaurants or take a short drive to nearby attractions such as H20BX water park, The Wright Brothers Memorial and Jockeys Ridge State Park.



Getting Around:

Parking is always free on site for paid guests.



You can walk or bike to many restaurants and attractions. The beach is directly across the street and you can walk on the beach or walk/bike "The Beach Road" to other restaurants and attractions such as Kitty Hawk Pier.



Uber/Taxi services are available.



Other Things to Note:

A stay at the Saltaire Cottages will require you to climb stairs. It is 5 stairs to this unit.

If cancelled, even within the cancellation window, a processing fee may apply.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Charming and very clean. We liked the old obx atmosphere - with a nice update. Great location with ocean views. The pool was refreshing with ample chairs. There’s a crow’s nest with pergola. Screened in porch on cottage 11 was spacious enough to have dinner outside and still have room to hang towels. The property was well kept. There is private path to the beach is directly across the road. Amanda was friendly and easy to communicate with. We talked with a couple staff at various times and they were super pleasant. We will definitely stay here again.

Location!

Can’t beat the location. Not the newest property but the unit was nicely appointed and included Keurig and many kitchen/bath starters, such as shampoo, conditioner, kitchen soap/sponge, paper towels and linens. Steps to Arts for breakfast and/or cocktails. Beach was directly across the street—2 min. walk. We’ll be back!

It was great but too short! Great location.. Reminds me of old Nags Head but on the inside very simple and very clean. All that you need for a beach trip.

No dishwasher, no washer dryer in unit. Showers old. Uncomfortable beds, squeaky floors, doors stick all in all not my type of place. A rip off for the money! Perfect for college kids!

Saltaire Cottages

The quaintness of this Cottage is wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly and readily available. The pool is perfect. And the walk to the ocean cannot be beat. No steps to climb to get to the water. Also, there is an ice cream shop on the same side of the road as the cottages, about a one block walk, that we walked to each night. We will be back.

Best location

This was a great little cottage. Lots of sleeping space. Walk to the beach in a minute or two. Nice pool with fun floaties and bubble machine. Close to everything. You could drive to grocery stores or restaurants within 5 minutes. My only complaint would be the wifi. It was very weak. I would say if you are someone who can't live without wifi, then you would be very sad. The stand alone shower in the second bathroom was tiny. Everyone in my family just took turns using the shower with the tub. There were no curtains, so light flooded in at night, and the sun woke us up every morning at 6:30....not a problem for us, but if you're a light sleeper or like to sleep in, you might not be happy. My mom hung beach towels over her windows. We loved it, and would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay!

The place was very clean, check in was very easy, and they provided everything that we needed! We only had to buy food! Our favorite part was the screened in porch. The children stayed on the porch for hours and did not come inside until we made them at 11pm. We knew that they were safe since the porch has a lock on the door. The adults went out onto the porch at night to enjoy the sound of the waves. I definitely recommend this place and we will be returning!

Great summer beach getaway

We had a wonderful time at Saltaire. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the welcome bag was great. The access to the beach and the pool were very easy for us. The kids had a great time eating on the big porch. There is an incredible cream shop and a great restaurant around the corner. It is in a great location where you can walk to many things. Just bring quarters for the laundry as there aren’t any available at the local banks! Fun summer stay at the beach!

It was very hard to find a property so last minute for my sisters bachelorette weekend since we had to cancel her original one inn April due to covid. We were delighted to have found this little cottage and it was perfect for the girls weekend.

Property is a little dated but looks like it was recently painted and nice new flooring. Towels and linen were crisp and smelled freshly laundered. Kitchen is very sparsely supplied- okay since we ate out for most meals. Great short walk to beach. Owner was nice to work with and communication was quick!

Great family spot!

This house is perfect for families. We have three kids under 4 and it was great to be so close to the beach and the pool. Everything was clean and easy to maintain. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was great to have a tub to bath the kids at the end of the day.

Property was perfect. Beach access directly across the street. Pool was nice too. Plenty of room for six of us. Our best times were on the screened porch. Only downfall and was no big deal. The kitchen could use a few more pots pans and bakeware. Property owner was always emailing to assure all was okay. Property manager Mike was exceptional! He was very personable and assured we had all we needed. He was always walking around and cleaning the grounds and the pool area.
