60th birthday celebrations

Booked the villa for my husband's 60th birthday and were delighted with the positioning and luxurious surroundings. The property was well maintained and staff came regularly to clean the villa. It really is a fabulous property and ideal for activities around MaeNam area. Chaweng is a long drive at around 30 mins and Lamai at 45 mins if you want to get to the night life. Bophut is closer and has some great restaurants in Fisherman's Village. Would like to have had air conditioning on lounge level as it did get very hot, but we could cool off in the bedrooms. We enjoyed it and would have no hesitation in recommending it to people who were happy to drive in Koh Samui.

Had a nice, relaxing stay

The villa has some nice views and a great infinity pool to help keep cool and relaxed. The bedrooms are spacious and have air conditioning. However, common spaces like the living room and kitchen area did not have any air conditioning, which made it difficult to hang out as a group. It’s worth noting that we were there during one of the hottest months, so this might not be an issue during cooler times of the year. We also found that the villa is difficult to access for vehicles because it was at the top of a hill. So ordering food delivery and taxis is sometimes challenging. Overall, we had a nice stay and enjoyed the villa.

Wir verbrachten mit drei Familien (6 Kinder zwischen 6 und 11) 2 wunderbare Wochen in der Villa Maphraaw. Die Zimmeraufteilung ist für einen Urlaub mit mehreren Familien ausgezeichnet, der zentrale Pool mit atemberaubender Aussicht ein perfekter Ort für einen Kaffee zum Sonnenaufgang. Die Möglichkeit, eine Köchin zu engagieren, die einen mit leckeren Speisen nach Wunsch in der eigenen Küche verwöhnt, ist nach einem ereignisreichen Entdeckertag ein großer Mehrwert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns herzlich bei unseren Gastgebern.

Fantastic Villa, Fantastic Service

We had a brief stay at this gorgeous property and could not be more pleased with the entire experience! Prior to our arrival the management staff were in regular contact, anticipating any needs we may have once we arrived at the Villa. A warm welcome awaited us as we approached the Villa in the transportation arranged for us by the Villa owners. The Villa itself is in a stunning location; quiet, peaceful, tons of room, equipped with any amenities one could ask for, and even the bathrooms were appointed with luxuries often only found in fine hotels. It is a perfect home for large groups and entertaining. Throughout our stay, Oliver was readily available for any questions we had, and was most helpful in orienting us to the island. Check out was smooth and they were very accommodating with late checkout. We would not hesitate to recommend this Villa to anyone looking to have their own home away from home on Samui. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Ein Tophaus, wunderschöne Lage, sehr gut ausgestattet

Wir fanden hier eine Topvilla mit feinster Ausstattung vor. Alles tiptop sauber. Vom Bose Soundsystem bis zum perfekten Pool alle vorhanden was man braucht. Der Ausblick vom Haus auf das Meer ist in beschreibbar, Die Zimmer sehr sauber und insgesamt sieht man schon, das man sehr stark bemüht ist, das Haus in Top Zustand zu halten. Wir haben uns für den ersten Tag eine Köchin, die Haushälterin des Hauses kommen lassen. Diese war so unfassbar gut, dass wir sie dann immer gebucht haben. Eine Genuss, Sie erfüllt einem jeden Wunsch. Wenn Koh Samui, dann immer wieder nur dort.

Amazing Villa!

I got married in June in Koh Samui and booked Villa Marphraaw for the wedding party for a few days beforehand. I could have not been more pleased!! What an experience. The views are amazing and Stuart and Jeremy were soooo kind and accommodating in helping with every last detail. They helped me book a WONDERFUL chef one night and also spa services, pickups from the airport, etc. Everything was just lovely! The villa is clean and beautiful! The sound system was great and magnificent pool. I hope to be able to return some day!

A week to remember...

Had an amazing week in one of the most beautiful villas on Samui and there is not a single criticism I can think of. The entire team from the time we made the reservation all they way to our check out were all great and were very easy to communicate with and the facilities were excellent as well - the private pool was our favorite. All around an unforgettable experience of which we are certain to return again!

Perfect end to our Samui adventure

We spent our last 2 nights on Samui here and we are glad we did! Most other villas we looked at had a minimum stay of 3-5 nights so we are lucky this place wass offered for a minimum of 2 nights stay only which was perfect for our group. All we did during our stay was relax and swim in the pool because we have already spent an entire week exploring the island so we decided to stay in during the last couple of days of our holiday. We have no complains at all and our host was always available when needed.

Ein Haus, in dem man sich vom ersten Moment an Zuhause fühlt. Der Eigentümer hat in diesem Objekt an Alles gedacht und auch durchdacht. Peaceful & quiet, just as we wanted...

I rent out my place back home as well so I have certain expectations when booking a house to stay in during my holidays and I wasn't disappointed at all when I saw this place. The villa is situated up a hill which offers a great view and away from the noisy part of the island, perfect place to relax. Huge house, probably too big for just the 2 of us staying but we prefer having all that space to ourselves than being in a cramped room. We treated the place like it was our own house so all is well when we left and our deposit was returned upon check out without any problem. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

best to get together as a family.

Stayed here November last year and my family were just talking about going back again on April which reminded me to leave my long postponed review. Our entire family had the very rare chance of getting together last November, there were 11 of us and even if there were only 5 bedrooms that's supposedly for 10 people only the host was still able to accommodate us with a small additional fee for an extra bed. The villa was pretty spacious even with 11 people staying in it, there were plenty of seating areas both inside and out. We also really loved the view from the pool and even had a BBQ once and dined outside which was really cool and was one of my favorite moments of our entire stay because it really made it feel like the perfect family experience, it's one of those moments that we will always remember and the reason we try our best to get together as a family. Thank you Villa Maphraaw for making it a wonderful family holiday and we hope to be back on April.

Good Times

We have just returned home from a 10 night stay at Villa Maphraaw and we can't wait to share our wonderful experience at this villa. First thing you will notice upon arrival is how immaculate the entire place is and we've stayed in a lot of other accommodations in Thailand before and it's never this spotless unless it's a brand new building, it's obviously received a lot of love and care from it's owner and it is clearly reflected on it's condition. Another thing we really appreciated was the service. We were contacted by Jeremy right after we confirmed our stay and we asked him a lot of questions since we will be spending more than a week at the villa and we wanted to make sure we were aware of things we need to know and he was more than happy to answer all of it, he even suggested places we need to visit and his favorite restaurants to eat and we tried to visit almost all of them with the time we have. It was a wonderful and worry-free holiday and our guest manager, Julien who welcomed us upon arrival was also very helpful and responds quickly whenever we ask something thru whatsapp or by simply calling him from the villa phone they have provided for us. Each of the 5 bedrooms were also great, all with air conditioning but we rarely spent our time indoors because most of the time we were either out exploring Samui or hanging by the pool outside swimming. A big thank you to Stuart for sharing his home!

The villa itself is a great place for larger groups and several families. There is everything one needs for a comfortable stay in Mae Nam, away from the chaotic scenes of Chawaeng. The view was nice, the rooms comfortable and the air worked great in the bedrooms. Seeing that everyone spends most of their time in the living area, an A/C unit needs to be installed there-there are enough similar reviews to warrant it. We spent a lot of time at a great little restaurant at the bottom of the hill called Jung Hom, where the beach was lovely and the kids could swim. Be warned, the hill up to the villa is steep and treacherous, we managed to swipe an electrical box and total the car on the way up. Suffice to say, it ruined our holiday as we had to deal with paying for it and scraping cash together each day at the ATM, as they wouldn't accept anything but cash and gave us 18 hours to pay it. Complete fiasco. The villa owner, Stuart, was very accommodating, however, and really did his best to try and help us overcome issues. The same could not be said about the villa manager. They were late in allowing us to check in and said that the ride from the airport would be complimentary. But at check out, he battled me and said there was no free ride. Thankfully Stuart stepped in. After mentioning the villa was inadequately supplied (no soap in the bathrooms upon check in), he told me to go to a convenience store! Then at the next cleaning, we were again understocked and he told me again to go buy soap. The whole point in having a full service villa is to have these sorts of conveniences and be told "I'll take care of it." Julien needs a little lesson in guest services. He also said he'd help us find a boat trip but never replied. I found one myself by no small feat. There is a maid's flat attached to the villa and the housekeeper spent literally 6 hours cleaning each time she came and also used the flat to make meals for other villas. She also spent a great deal of time chatting to various lookie-loos from around the community, which aggravated us. The lack of privacy was off putting and the villa manager's feedback was "it is what it is, it takes time to clean." Next time, I'd just ask for Stuart or request a different manager. This is a 5 Star villa with 2 Star service. Haggling over towels and miniature bars of soap? Please...

Beyond Expectation

My friends and I went to Samui to attend a friend's wedding held at a Resort in Mae Nam and we found this villa which is pretty close to the venue and we thought the rate offered to us by the owner was a pretty good deal especially when you split the cost for 10 people. We can not speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment we booked the place, the host went above and beyond to make such a special vacation so memorable. The villa itself is beautiful and extremely well kept. The facilities available to all were outstanding and Julien the guest manager arranged everything from a Thai cooking class, tour tickets, and a massage at our own villa – everyone was catered for. We went to Samui thinking of just attending a wedding and being there for our friend's special day but we didn't expect to have such a fun and memorable time ourselves! We couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

Perfect location, just what we were looking for...

We always consider location when choosing our accommodation and we were very pleased when we arrived at the villa, it is very accessible but at the same away from the noise and gives you complete privacy which made us really comfortable with the place. We also loved the pool especially the cool breeze when swimming at night. A great experience indeed!

Short Stay but Fantastic

Only stayed here for 3 nights. It is my second time at Villa Maphraaw having stayed in 2009. Thought I'd leave a review because the villa had been recently painted and upgraded, so we lucked out. Just as before, we had a great time at the villa. Everything was very pleasant, quiet and relaxing, just what I needed after a hectic working year....

5 Star Experience like no other Villa!

Stayed at this villa for more than a week with my family and we couldn't have had a better vacation. The photos couldn't be more accurate than how it really looks in person and everything inside and out are obviously well maintained unlike other villas that we stayed in before. Everything we asked for such as tour bookings and car rentals were also arranged very quickly and without hesitation. All in all the best vacation we had in Thailand yet. We'll definitely be back very soon!

“Villa of dreams in paradise”

After having first contact with the owner Stuart regarding Villa Maphraaw, I already had a good feeling regarding our stay and not having seen anything yet. Writing a review regarding Maphraaw isn't easy, simply because it's a description of how staying in paradise should be! From the moment we arrived on the airport everything was arranged perfectly until now. We'll be leaving again upcoming friday, but for sure we'll return to Villa Maphraaw next year. Our contact Jeremy is a very nice guy who is more than willing to arrange everything for you. Day or night he is available when necessary! Normally we never return for holidays to the same location, but we've found the villa of our dreams, so why look any further?! I've read some reviews regarding necessity of 4x4 cars, which isn't correct. We've rented a normal car and this covers your drive to the villa.
