After climbing through the Kamakura hill trails, we came across the Kamakura Buddha statue. It is an amazing sight and hot to the touch as the sun bakes its metal surface. #adventure

The Big Buddha or Daibutsu in Kamakura, which is a bit over an hour's drive from Tokyo, is a popular day trip from the city. Located in a nice park, the image sits elegantly outdoors. For 20 yen, you could also go inside it, which is unusual. The town of Kamakura itself is really lovely, with a terrific walking street full of cute shops in the evening.
