One of the coolest things about this Buddha is that it’s completely hollow. You can go inside for 20 cents. Definitely a must see in Kamakura! #japan #architecture #asia #buddha #iconicplaces
The Big Buddha or Daibutsu in Kamakura, which is a bit over an hour's drive from Tokyo, is a popular day trip from the city. Located in a nice park, the image sits elegantly outdoors. For 20 yen, you could also go inside it, which is unusual. The town of Kamakura itself is really lovely, with a terrific walking street full of cute shops in the evening.
