"I was impressed with the quality and convenience of the facilities.
So much that I decided to download the Hyatt app so I could consider their offerings in future decisions/journeys as I am a frequent traveler- about 75% of the time per year.
On my way out, when I asked about having the spend I had just completed to my newly created Hyatt account- the front desk staff informed me: “no” because I had made the reservation - over $500 for 1 night- had been made through Expedia- so that doesn’t count for Hyatt.
I understand the staff was probably just following their training. But I would be remiss to not say what a disappointing experience it was.
I felt stupid for having taken the time to download the app and stopping at 5am as I rushed back to the airport to ask to have my spending acknowledged acknowledged in my newly created account only to be informed in as terse and rude a manner as one could imagine this specific stay “doesn’t count”. Thus is a poorly constructed policy that will fail to grow any market share that may have been attainable for Hyatt. I understand Hyatt is a successful business and will continue to be without my business.
So thank you for providing a nice place to rest for 5 hours in the middle of the night that resulted from having a delay in an originating flight and being stuck in SFO. But no thanks on any further booking from me.
Respectfully
JEC"
