“Despite being a block from downtown, this house feels amazingly quiet, peaceful, and removed. The backyard was an unexpected bonus, and each of us spent time in the patio chairs enjoying the lush green landscaping and breezes. Inside, the house has very comfortable beds and plenty of room for people to spread out or gather together, including a front porch with a swinging daybed. It's a short walk to the Faire Coffee shop or other Main Street stores in one direction and to Uncle Bob's Homemade……

“Beautiful home and great scenery. We were in town for the Brad Wallin Memorial tournament, so we didn't get to enjoy the home as much as we wanted. If we are ever in the area again we will definately try and rent this place again.”

“We came in from three different states to have family time and to attend a wedding! Since we live in three states, it was awesome to have a quiet, home to stay in!! I wish the decks had been swept, but the home was beautiful!! For a family of 10 and a 8 month old, it was a perfect gathering spot!! Other family came for a brunch before the wedding and we hosted 18 people easily!!! The hosts were so easy to work with and communicate with!!! We would stay here again!!!”

“Add stated a pool and then when you booked it you had to pay another HOA fee of 100.00 before we got there, they changed it to 300.00 but we already had a contract. Can't use the beach, playground or pool without paying the fee. The booking should list that. Minimal pool hours too The house was very nice. Lots of room. We will probably look elsewhere next year due to the pool drama.”

“Great place. Great for small romantic stay or whole family stay. Property was just as advertised. The only trouble we had was finding the place. We got in the first gate and then based on the instructions it sounded like it should be right there but it wasn’t. We had to call the owner to get the rest of the directions. They were very receptive and even though it was late when we were getting there they were kind and helpful. They should just include that last part of the instructions on the……

“We enjoyed our stay and are looking into planning another for next year to include all our kids. We were in town for a family wedding at Lake Wildwood. Jim's property and space is absolutely amazing, huge deck area by the pond with feeding the fish was awesome including ample space in the garage to play washers & games when it got too cold out. Check in/out were so easy, he replied quickly to texts, and overall great experience.”

The cleanliness, coziness, attention to details (it has ANYTHING you may need and more) and the local history is amazing. This will be my number one pick when visiting the Illinois Valley.”

“We loved the detail that went into turning this building into loft apartments. We felt very safe. The main street is adorable and Nats' is the place to go for coffee and food. “Booked and paid for my stay 3 months I'm advance. When we went to check in, the people at the check in hut acted like I never paid. When I tried to show them my receipt, they said it would be okay and they would contact Expedia. Told us it was because we booked too far in advance we were having these issues. FYI they didn't check with Expedia, they just decided to double charge me. When I called to complain about being charged a 2nd time. I was told not to book thru Expedia next time and that……
