「While this is a nice property on the inside, there were still a few issues we ran into while staying there. The pillows smelled like cigarette smoke, there weren’t really any dishes to use, and there’s only three beds for what was a 10 person booking. The biggest issue of all was the WiFi. We were unable to connect the TV so there wasn’t entertainment, you can only connect up to 5 devices at a time (again, this is a 10 person booking) and even when connected the internet didn’t run on the...

「Our family of 5 really enjoyed this charming and cozy house during our week at the dunes and the beach. The property was very clean and provided everything we needed for the beach, including a wagon to haul everything. It was just a few minute walk to a relatively quiet part of Miller Beach and a few minute drive to the West Beach area of the National Park (we enjoyed the Diana of the Dunes Dare). The nearby train station provides an easy one hour ride to downtown Chicago, which we took...

「This rental is old and needs a lot of work. Owner doesn’t live locally. We showed up to some dirty dishes, a broken sink but it got worse. With one small bathroom, the shower broke when simply pulling the silver the tab to start a shower. I had 3 adults a 12 yr old. It was hard to get a call back, Vrbo refunded me 120 credit which didn’t help at all. The WiFi went out twice , I lost two days of work staying here. The propane on the grill was out , found that out after prepping my family’s...

「Everything was as advertised and check in was easy. Neighborhood was amazing and super close to rail and great parks. Only downside is limited street parking but we never had to park more than 2 blocks away. Fair price, strong recommend.」

「Beautiful home! Very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We weren’t expecting it to be on the second floor but honestly loved it that much more for it. It provided a quiet and private space for us to enjoy & with beautiful trees. The house is full of historic charm and beauty and is well cared for and beautifully decorated. It’s close to our favorite little root beer stand with the best root beer which was also a plus 」

「Super cuter place and extremely close to the beach! We're definitely going to book this place again!」

「This is not the first time we've stayed at this house. It has plenty of room for a large group, it is a short walk to a beautiful beach, and the back deck is wonderful to enjoy your morning coffee. We absolutely loved our stay and we are already making plans to come back!」

「What an amazing stay! My husband and I visited Locavore Cottage for our anniversary with friends joining us for the Dine on the Land dinner series which was fantastic!Just one hour from Chicago, this is more than a stay, it’s a unique experience to slow down, unwind, and relax into a gentler lifestyle. The property itself is just beautiful and expansive. You can wander the flower gardens, explore the vegetables growing, or stroll through the walking path around the pond. We saw critters big and...

「The interior of the house was not the same as the photos listed. That being said, the interior of the house is similar to photos and was very clean. Listing different photos than the actual property is not fair to guests. Here are some areas of caution/improvements:1) The bottom step onto the sidewalk leading up to the house is missing. It is a dangerous situation, and it is difficult to maneuver. This should be mitigated before anyone is injured.2) The staircase leading up to the second floor...

「The house was perfect for our long weekend! Easy parking, access to the beach, quiet, and really well stocked house. Everything worked great. Double check before arriving with what might still be on property, such as chairs, umbrellas, etc.」

「We had a great vacation. The house was clean and as advertised. It was a short walk to the beach and zoo. The train station was a 5 minute drive. Our 6 year old loved the train ride to the Chicago aquarium for the day. Highly recommend the house and location!」

「The property was literally a 5 minute walk to the beach and the host had put a lot of thought into amenities necessary for a day at the beach-towels, chairs, umbrella, toys, and a wagon!! It was great!」
