“Rooms were clean, ac was working. Breakfast was ample but rather dull. We booked 3 rooms and were given a room on each floor, not ideal ”

“We had a lovely stay at the Bell Inn. Had booked the super duper room and were very pleased with it. Everything we needed was there and in a beautiful, fresh space.”

“Reception staff were great. Pulled all the stops out so I could have a room in a location I requested. Areas of the hotel were going through maintenance and decorating but caused NO disruption to guests. The car park is gated with access code that changes daily to exit it. The only 2 criticisms I can say. 1 is delivery drivers making a hell of a lot of noise outside the front of the hotel when delivering drinks and snacks. The other is the car parking charge. £5 a night. That doesn't bother……

“We would have rated the Castle excellent if we had slept better, but having a room on the busy main road made that difficult…we could imagine that another back room was much quieter. But the atmosphere was nice and both dinner and breakfast freshly cooked and well-presented were all enjoyable.”

“The hotel was very poorly staffed throughout our stay. 75%+ of tables had dirty glasses / empty bottles that needed clearing. All draught options were off at the bar and we were charged 20% service for opening 2 bottles of beer. The spa was ok but very tired. The changing rooms had a lot of broken plastic worksurfaces. The pool itself was ok but had clearly had a rushed refurbishment with a poorly fitting pool liner. It all felt quite claustrophobic. The jacuzzi was way over-chlorined……

“This is my second time to stay, overall is much better than before. There is Carpark available but need fee. As my room air conditioning control panel is broken and got too warm to stay for 2 nights, the staff is good to change another room for me very efficiently. Shopping and restaurants is nearby, easy to walk in a few minutes.”

“No restaurant available as per the description and photos - I had planned to eat dinner after Check In but couldn't. Breakfast was in the reception area and not very comfortable. On check in, I was asked what time I wanted my 'full English' - not ideal being held to a time. Full English didn't have standard bacon - it was non pork Turkish bacon which I should have been told about. I only ate half the breakfast, and I was only offered the cooked breakfast (with some fruit and toast). Bed……
