"It started badly. It took 4 attempts to get check in details via 3 different people. Then, when we arrived at the admittedly charming location, things unravelled further. the very first thing that hit us was a fusty smell of neglect as we opened the door. We do not think the description or the website is accurate. Far from being - as promised - a charming holiday cottage with a warm and cosy atmosphere - it is a rundown, cramped, shabby bungalow in desperate need of maintenance. The woodwork...

"Wir waren total begeistert. Ich finde, der Turm wurde mit viel Gefühl renoviert. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, aber nichts Überflüssiges. Dadurch fühlt es sich dort ursprünglich und spannend an. Blutrache. Piraten. Das scheint alles nicht weit weg zu sein. Aber das Leben ist auch nicht weit: Die sehr nette Taverne auf dem Dorfplatz hat - so weit ich weiß - das ganze Jahr geöffnet.Das untere Schlafzimmer ist direkt neben Küche/Wohnzimmer und Bad. Die beiden Betten sind liegen getrennt...

"The house is beautiful, with lots of seating areas, good sized bedrooms and a lovely garden and terraces. These combine great views of the sea and mountains, with sheltered places to eat and cook outside. The area of the Mani the house is in is dramatic and surprising, and Kiparissos is a great base to explore it all. Last but not least there are two delightful beaches within 5 minutes walk, both often deserted and with lovely clear water. We look forward to returning!"

"Le logement était fonctionnel, les 2 chambres étaient complètement séparées et n’étaient pas communicantes. Ce qui est considéré comme une troisième chambre est finalement le salon, situé au même endroit que la cuisine. Le logement était assez propre mais je pense qu’il n’avait pas été nettoyé depuis longtemps. Le jardin était très agréable et le terrain de volley a fait plaisir à toute la famille, donc si vous comptez vous balader dans les superbes environs, ce logement est adéquat !"

"Clean, two small room bathroom. Only lower floor of building. High up on a ridge. Village has not much to offer (no shops, no restaurants). 25 minutes to beach and to Monemvasia, 10 minutes to nearest (very good) restaurant. Winds can get very strong, as we experienced. Good communications with owner. "

"I was a little stressed about the no on-site parking, and that is a big challenge, but it's not a fault of the hotel. I suggest dropping your stuff off up as far as your car can go (hopefully you have someone to stay with it) then walking the 300 m or so to the hotel. You can pay them to do this but it's really just some ups and downs, so just wear footwear that isn't too slippery, arrive early (apparently last check in is at 8:30 pm but they accommodated us at 10:30 pm - but be sure to have a cell flash light to get there if you arrive after sundown as the last 50 m is in the dark otherwise). Otherwise, the rooms are beautiful with great AC and it's on the furthest east side of the castle so you will have access to amazing sunrises in the morning. The breakfast is home cooked and made with love. We had a great time and really enjoyed the location."
