Lamplugh: NW view by St Michael's Church, 1986. It was a fine clear day for once and on the horizon Criffell (1,866 ft.) is just visible on the Scottish side of the Solway. This was once my land, as Lord of the Manor of Lamplugh and in the weeds of the churchyard on the right are my father's ashes in a family grave. (See also NY0820 : Lamplugh: St Michael's Parish Church, 1986).

The hosts were excellent every time I spoke to Julie she contacted me straight away. The lodge was just beautiful and surroundings. The lodge had every comfort one needs when you go away. It was warm, comfy , and spotless. And we had a lovely bottle of wine and brewing up facilities plus biscuits ...
