The cottage was tastefully decorated, cozy and well appointed. Quiet setting in the Amish heartland. This historic building was lovingly restored to become an inviting retreat.
My husband and I stayed for two nights in January. We wanted to get away from hearing or seeing anything about the Inauguration. The meeting house was lovely, calm and relaxing. We enjoyed the historical aspect of “the meeting house” and would love to return.
We’ve been returning to this charming, peaceful, immaculate oasis for ten years and have never been disappointed. It is cozy and classy with a restful ambiance. We always leave refreshed.
My wife and I were very impressed with our stay. Easy to find(we put Mt. Culmen Cottage in our GPS) The cottage was very clean, it was a little home away from home. It was so relaxing. We will definitely stay here again!!
I've lost count of how many times we've stayed at Mt. Culmen....maybe 7? 8? Needless to say, we keep going back. Twice a year we've made this our sanctuary to connect and rest. We are forever grateful to Michael and Janae, and especially Michael this trip, who came out at 10:30pm to help stop a chirping alarm! THANK YOU! We'll be back in the fall.
We had been through this area before and already like the beautiful countryside. When we saw this listing it looked perfect and we were not disappointed! The owners paid attention to every little detail and the size was just right for the two of us. We really enjoyed our morning coffee in the patio area. We would love to come again sometime!
This rental was absolutely what I wanted! It had such a lovely, simple times feel but was maintained beautifully and incredibly comfortable and peaceful.
This was a mother daughter getaway. Everything was very clean & so comfortable. We cooked breakfast & supper every day. The kitchen had all the necessities to do that. We loved the scrapbook with the history of the property. In the evenings playing a game or sitting in front of the gas fireplace talking & crocheting. We would definitely come here again!
We loved your house, it was so cozy and had everything we needed. We appreciated and loved the Godly sentiments throughout the house, and the fact that there was no TV. We spent more time talking which was so wonderful! Thank you and would definitely stay there again!
Our stay at the Historic Church was very special. Having a piano was so nice as our friend played and we sang together. Not having a TV was also so enjoyable as we spent time chatting together rather than watching something. The whole place was very well appointed and had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
My husband and I stayed here for our 21st wedding anniversary. It was so nice to have some time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday. The attention to detail and availabilty of items was certainly a blessing.
We appreciated the history and loving restoration of this unique structure. We loved the simple but perfect attention to every detail. Massive stone walls, a tiny library that is a perfect space to read or pray, a two-story entry /common space with fireplace, kitchen and couch, wide window sills, spotlessly clean and shining floors, walls, snd surfaces are just a few of the features you will find here. We highly recommend staying here whenever you are in the area. This was our second stay and we would definitely return.
brimming with character and historical content, this property will not disappoint the travelers that stay here. Be prepared to enjoy a 'step back in time" quaintness which permeates the atmosphere of this property. We found it to be an extremely clean, well appointed and quite comfortable property. Be warned! No television! However, if you are truly visiting Lancaster for the experiences, television is not missed.
My husband & I enjoyed a quiet relaxing weekend away at this cozy cottage. We visited a nearby farmers market to make our suppers and breakfasts while we were there. A Wolfe sanctuary, pretzel factory, the outlets & many other great sites. This was the perfect place to call home for a couple days.
The Cottage is like something out of a story book. We came up from SC and stayed here Christmas week as a base of operations while visiting family and friends. It is cozy and warm and peacefully quiet - just perfect!
The cottage was such a peaceful place! The cottage was very clean and communication with host was spot on. We loved our stay and will return in the future. Highly recommend this cottage!
