It was an excellent option for a family of 5, always difficult to find one room for all of us. Price - value balance was very good. Cheap and very basic. Location excellent, nice and quiet it was just right.

Quiet property within a quiet neighbourhood. It's a short walk to the train station where you can connect easily to other towns and cities across The Netherlands. Clean bathroom and sleeping quarters. Would recommend staying here as the base for sleeping and then using the train station for exploring other areas.

The place exceeded our expectations. Lawrence is a first class host. The place is really quirky and well worth the money. Leeuwarden is just a fantastic base in the north of the country and we made a visit to one of the Wadden Islands with a two hour ferry journey which was splendid.

I stayed at the Anker a few times after my apartment was sold. Not only was it the most economical option for private rooms in Leeuwarden, but also for all of Nederland. Amenities vary by room type, but had a good stay in all the room types I tried. Excellent location in the center of Ljouwert.

I wasn't expecting a lot from this property given it was so cheap. It met my expectations in that it was a simple, clean place to stay for a night. What was unexpected was a noise like a chainsaw coming from - I think - the bathroom when someone was using the shower. Things were a little chaotic leaving and collecting my luggage but the staff were helpful. Ok for a night but wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.

The hotel has been a family business for 60plus years and it shows jn the personal care and attention to detail. Customer satisfaction is the aim of the owners/managers. For an economical rate this is the place to stay in Leeuwarden!

Fijn geholpen leuk midden in het uitgaansgebied. Pand is gedateerd maar met nette kamers. Ontbijt was simpel maar goed.

Hier werde ich nie wieder übernachten!

Kein Parkplatz trotz Hinweis auf der Unterkunftseite - dann hätte ich nicht gebucht. Musste den Wagen in einer öffentlichen parkgarage abstellen, voll mit dem Gepäck. Und am noch 10 Minuten laufen. Zimmer direkt neben dem Gasthaus. Meine Bitte um 10 Minuten früheres Frühstück, das erst um acht Uhr!! angeboten wird, wurde abgelehnt, ginge nicht. Ich war einfach 7.50 Uhr da - und alles war fertig. Defekte Kaffeemaschine, kümmerliches Frühstück und das für satte 80€. Nie wieder!
