The Rodney House

Listed as “The most beautiful Airbnb” in Delaware on Architectural Digests website. We want this to be a relaxing memorable vacation and will do what we can to make it happen. We are local so are around to help you with anything you would require.
Walk up the stairs to the main floor that has a private office, kitchen and beautiful living room with a smart TV. The kitchen is well equipped and has a Keurig with coffee pods to start your day. There is also a washer and dryer on the main floor. The master bedroom shares the whole third floor with the master bath. The ceilings are lofty with the original exposed beams. You can walk out the front door of the apartment to all our restaurants, shopping, fishing and everything Lewes has to offer.. Shuttles are at the corner to take you to neighboring beach towns, outlet shopping, the Cape May Lewes ferry and Cape Henlopen State Park. We have designed this apartment for a romantic couple getaway, or peaceful retreat.

We had an excellent stay at the Rodney house!! The history of the house is amazing, and the location was unbeatable - walking distance to beach and right on the main strip. We were able to find free parking a few blocks away that made things very easy!

Great fall getaway in Lewes!

Great for a get away week

The apartment was perfect for our needs. Right on the main commercial street with very easy walks to good restaurants, bars, and shopping. A short drive from the beach or Cape Henlopen. We had some weather while we were there but never felt cooped up in the apartment. There was plenty of room to spread out, and work when we had to or just hang out. Would stay again.

Great location to explore Lewes DE. The character of the property matched the character of Lewes. Perfect location

Perfect location, right next door to Fairy Godmother. Nice check amenities, plenty of towels/necessities for our visit, even a beach bag, beach towels, flip flops and chairs. Only teenie tiny suggestion would be clips for bags in the utility drawer, otherwise these owners have thought of everything to make the stay so easy & fun. Thank you !!

Lovely apartment in the heart of historic Lewes

Great location to sample the different cafes and restaurants of Lewes, or simply walk the streets and admire the beautiful architecture. Also worked well for two days of telework, with a great office alcove with desk and the dining table in a separate room for a second teleworker. So much space in the apartment and close to everything. Easy and free street parking in April (I understand that changes to metered street parking in the summer).

Wonderful place in Lewes, DE

My spouse and I stayed in this property for 5 days and could not be happier with the accommodations. This two level apartment is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated—and steps away from wonderful restaurants and shops in lovely downtown Lewes. Only a 5 minute drive to Lewes Beach or Cape Henlopen State Park, this was the perfect place to stay for our beach vacation. Also, parking was never a problem—every day free parking was readily available on beautiful residential streets only a couple of short blocks from the apartment. We highly recommend, and are already planning our next stay!

Charm Galore

My husband and I absolutely loved the Rodney House! Charming was the first thought I had, add comfortable and spotless. The extra touches were many including extra towels, conveniently located throws, bathroom magnifying mirror, local beer, salt water taffy, and so much more. The location was fabulous and we visited all the shops on 2nd Street, especially enjoying Biblion - we stopped in twice on our 3 day visit! Lewes offers great food and a lovely ambiance. We’ll be back for a longer stay.

Conveniently located, gorgeous apartment

The apartment was roomy, comfortable and clean. It was quiet even though right in town. We thought parking might be a challenge, but we parked right in front to unload when we arrived and found plenty of free parking 3 blocks away for the duration of our stay. The place was perfectly situated for quiet walks to the main campus of the Lewes Historical Society with excellent live docents in period costume. Close to King's Ice Cream shop, too, for wonderful homemade treats. Easy access to the main road to Cape Henlopen or multiple bike trails. Terrific getaway, thanks Ashley!

Excellent Location for shopping and dining! Lewes is special!

Spacious and lovely 1 Bedrm and 1 Bath on upper level.Lovely Full Kitchen and Stylish Furnishings. Really enjoyed the Books and Snacks. Two sets of stairs are featured in the listing. However, The ceiling heights were not shown and a bit low on the stairs so you have to DUCK to keep from hitting your head and steps were dark and difficult to see, especially when carrying luggage. Comfortable heating and easy check in and out.Would highly recommend, however disclosure of the low ceilings for Seniors. Parking nearby, however, no reserved area for this Apartment on busy street. Thank you hostesses, we really enjoyed our stay!

Perfection!

This was one of my favorite bookings on VRBO. There are no negatives for this property. The location is right downtown in the middle of all the action. Pa4k your car and enjoy strolling anywhere you’d like to go. The historical nature of the property is outstanding. It was extremely clean and comfortable and they provide everything needed. It lacked nothing to make the stay comfortable. They were always quick to respond to any communications. The bed/ pillows offer a good night’s sleep. Highly recommend and I would gladly book again!

Perfect location in the heart of historic Lewes. Restaurants, stores, the museum, and lovely St. Peter's church are all an easy stroll from your doorstep. The apartment was flawlessly renovated to provide luxurious, modern comfort without compromising the building's historic charms, such as the exposed original brickwork and rafters. Thoughtful, welcoming touches are everywhere, from the plentiful books and treats, to the towels folded to look like entwined swans, to the local beers in the fridge. It was a delight to stay at the Rodney House. We will definitely return!
