  • Tucked away beside the old vicarage in Askrigg, this detached annexe is a rural retreat for couples looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. With stunning views and walks straight from the doorstep, you’re only a short stroll from the heart of the village, where traditional pubs and a local shop await. TV fans will love exploring the streets made famous by All Creatures Great and Small, while nature lovers can set off to discover the area’s breathtaking scenery. Venture to nearby Hawes (5.5 miles) to sample the delights of the Wensleydale Creamery, or chase waterfalls with visits to Hardraw Force (5.5 miles), Aysgarth Falls (5 miles), Mill Gill and Whitfield Gill Force , just outside the village.

    Inside, this inviting cottage combines rustic features, such as exposed wooden beams and flagstone floors, with tasteful design and modern comforts. Step into the beautifully finished kitchen, complete with a Belfast sink and everything you could need for a home-from-home stay. From here, move through to the lounge/diner, where a wood burner and Smart TV make cosy nights in irresistible. There’s also a dining table and a quiet reading nook with a plush armchair, perfect for a good book. One whole side of the room opens onto the patio via swing-and-slide doors with spectacular views beyond. A handy cloakroom with WC rounds off the ground floor. Upstairs, the super-king bedroom feels like a peaceful sanctuary, accented by feature wallpaper. Head out through the private door onto the old stone steps that lead to a raised platform, offering far-reaching countryside views. The luxurious en-suite boasts a large walk-in shower and a freestanding roll-top bath – just the place to unwind after a day exploring.

    Outside, you’ll find a lovely garden with patio furniture, a lawn, decking, and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining. There’s also an external utility/boot room with sink, freezer, and washing machine – ideal for muddy boots and sandy gear.
