“What a wonderful home away from home! Our room was just perfect. Nicely designed, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. We enjoyed a bottle of wine sitting on the dock while taking in the beauty of the lake. Nicole was extremely welcoming when we arrived & very sweet. We even got to meet the furbabies who greeted us with wagging tails & doggie smiles. We will definitely be staying again in the future. If 10 stars were an option we would rate this rental as a 10!”

“This beautiful property was perfect for what we needed. Our son had a soccer tournament in Hickory with spaced out game times, rescheduled games due to weather, etc. The Blue Door Guesthouse was our comfortable oasis to relax and enjoy family time. The pool was great, even in May! The hosts are top knotch. Highly recommend!”

“Husband and I went for a quick getaway. Everything was clean and convenient. The cats were so sweet and nice company to have while you sat on the balcony and looked at the lake. Fishing was extremely relaxing as well. They had board games for the rainy night we had and the kitchen was well stocked. Loved it and would definitely try to go again.”

“The pictures do not showcase how lovely this home is. Kitchen was beautiful. Farmhouse sink that i would live to have in my home. Countertops were exceptionally beautiful. Color selection throught the home was warm, neutral and inviting. King bed was very comfortable. No problems falling asleep. Sitting area was quaint and private. The upper deck was a joy. “Really neat place if you want to get away from city life and enjoy peace and quiet. Owners are very friendly and responsive. I wasn’t there long enough to try the breakfast “which upsets me because I’m sure it would have been delicious”. Plenty of wildlife and stock animals that I’m sure kids would love it. Almost stole their cat though. We became buddies and everytime I would go outside, here came my little buddy to keep me company. I would highly recommend a stay here.”

“My son and I stayed here for a weekend to explore the fall leaf color. As a former VRBO host and a seasoned traveler, I can confidently say that this was my best stay ever. The studio is about one hour away from Grandfather Mountain and Ashville. We flew into Charlotte, which is also about an hour away. The drive to the property is pretty. The studio is a nicely converted basement and the hosts live onsite. There is a private driveway and entrance to the unit, so guests can have total……

“From the view of the lake to the fully equipped home, this lake house invited us to relax and unplug from the stress of everyday life from the moment we stepped onto the property. We brought our boat and launched it from the ramp located right on the property, and we loved exploring the lake, coming back to enjoy a fire by the lake, and cooking dinner on the grill fully equipped with enough propane to last our entire visit.
