“Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage, genau neben Alnwick Castle. Im Zimmer lagen Bücher mit der Geschichte des Schlosses, die man lesen konnte und sehr interessant waren. Das Frühstück war gut und reichhaltig.”

“The hotel was lovely. We were greeted cheerfully and told the breakfast times and reminded not to forget our room key when going out as the room door once shut can only be opened with a key. Our room was very spacious, a really comfortable bed and a nice sized bathroom. There were also sufficient coat hangers in the wardrobe. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate were provided in the room. Breakfast provided a good choice of hot and cold food and the staff were lovely. The reception is manned from 8am……

“From the moment we arrived the staff were really attentive and friendly. We felt very welcome and amongst friends. The room was clean and comfortable with a fabulous view of the surrounding countryside. The breakfast was cooked to order and they brought exactly what was ordered too. A good selection to choose from. We did eat in the restaurant the first evening and the food, wine and service was excellent. “A thoroughly enjoyable stay. We were in room 3 which had a challenging set of stairs, no lift due to nature of the historic building. Very atmospheric place bang in the middle of the town great access on foot to all amenities. A 10 minute stroll to the Castle and the excellent car park. Breakfast was first class value. “I would normally say nothing rather than write a bad review but this place was so bad - the room in particular, the fact that no one cared and it showed , the lack of maintenance or bothering about customers , i think other guests should be aware. We could have put up with having to search for someone to check us in, the dirty carpets, battered dirty paint work, incredibly slow service , being made to feel an inconvenience for having dinner ( food was nice when we eventually got it) and not……
