Pros- Lovely flat in a reasonably quiet street for Lisbon. Great views and loads of space. AC and fan are a blessing. Cons- showers have a funky mildew smell, one window is framed w/ black mold, 1 trash bag, 3 small rolls of TP, old towels & no dishwasher tabs for a 7-day stay. Contacted manager thru email and app to little response.

Terrible experience

The smell in the apartment was unbearable, making it impossible for us to use the master bedroom. The sofa and cushions were also dirty, adding to the overall discomfort. This apartment clearly lacks proper maintenance and care. We couldn’t wait to leave.Access was another major issue — you can't drive up to the front door due to street restrictions. We had to roll our suitcases for 500 meters and then carry them up three flights of stairs, which was extremely inconvenient.

Communication Breakdown

The unit is as listed. 3 brs/2 full a baths. Very little storage to put anything away and the one closet was full of random items so it was unusable. View of Lisbon is amazing. Very hilly walk to the unit. Narrow staircase to get to the top level of the unit and no lights to guide you at night inside the building. Smart lock was very finicky as well. I received 2 different charges, one from VRBO at the time of booking and an increased amount from Joivy. I was refunded after being charged by Joivy but only after contacting them. We arrived 30 minutes prior to check in and waited outside. Approximately 15 minutes prior to check in the cleaners arrived. The unit was not ready for us to check in at the designated time. We had to wait an hour for the unit to be cleaned. I was forced to call the support team who told me the cleaners were done which was not the case as we were outside the entire time. This caused delays in our plans and forced us to reschedule our night. We could tell the unit was hastily cleaned as there was a dingy smell to the unit. We also booked transportation to the airport at check out where we were told the driver could pick us up at the unit however that was not the case. We had to walk and meet the driver at the bottom of the hill. I have contacted Joivy regarding our check-in experience and have not heard back. Because of this I would not stay in this unit again and do not recommend because of the lack of communication and accountability.

Fantastic visit to Lisbon!

This apartment was clean, comfortable, and in a great neighborhood. It is located within a restricted area so the area is quieter with less traffic. The view of the city, river, and bridge were amazing from the apartment. Plenty of space for my family. Would highly recommend.

Lovely flat

Very clean and comfortable flat with amazing view over the city. Right in the heart of things but on a quiet street. Only advice is don't use the taxi service offered which wasn't great.

Fantastic Location

Our family of 4 (kids age 5 and 7) stayed here and really enjoyed it. This apartment is in the perfect location for exploring Lisbon. I definitely recommend booking a ride from the airport with the car service recommended in the listing. You have to have a special pass to enter the street and dragging your luggage over the cobblestones for 300 meters would not be pleasant. Our driver, Bruno, was fantastic. The apartment is at the top of some steep hills, but is very close to one of the elevators that lets you skip about 100 stairs and makes the trek up and down from the apartment much more doable. Getting into the apartment building was easy, but the lock to the apartment door was not working when we arrived. Luckily, a quick phone call to the property management company resolved the issue. The apartment itself is spacious and clean. There is an amazing view of the city and river from the terrace. I wish there were a couple chairs on the terrace so you could sit out there with your coffee or wine. Instead, we had to settle for standing to look at the view. The only downside of the apartment is that the only air conditioning unit is in the living room. There are no vents or AC units in the bedrooms, so it was quite hot at night. There was only one fan for 3 bedrooms. If each bedroom had a fan, it would be more pleasant at night. Despite the lack of AC in the bedrooms, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

Great property. Getting a taxi or Uber was a challenge because the road in front of us was closed off because one needed a card or something to open up the access. Plus, the taxis didn’t know where the place was.

Amazing views! Comfortable and clean apartment.

All in all a great vacation rental. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We were met at the door by staff who let into the building and showed us the ropes. The apartment itself was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well-appointed with three bedrooms and one bath. The view of the old city and river is absolutely amazing. It was beautiful to wake up to every morning and sip wine looking out the windows. That said, there is a price to pay for the views and that is the very steep hill to get to the apartment on a jjagged cobblestones street. Because of the historic district where the apartment is located, the one-way street to get to the apartment is basically closed to through traffic so you must walk about five minutes on very uneven cobblestone to a main road to catch a taxi. Also there are about 2 1/2 flights of stairs to get to the apartment. So I would not recommend this apartment if you have any mobility issues. We had wished there had been a little more stock in the kitchen such as coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, etc. but there’s a grocery store very close by. Overall, it was a lovely apartment and a great value.
