“A very enjoyable stay at The Fourth Lock. It was a great location for exploring the area and has a really good restaurant on site. We were made very welcome and Jay could not have been more helpful. There are only 3 rooms, ours had access to a balcony with a view of the lake. Breakfast is provided as self-serve with a good selection of cereal bars, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juices and best of all, home made muffins :-) Coffee and tea making facilities are available in the shared cosy lounge, which……

“The restaurant serves food till midnight and the bar is open until 1am, the shuttle comes every quarter after and quarter to the hour which brings you to the airport, perfect place to stay if you have a flight from Halifax!”

“Located just a bit north of Halifax, the setting is like you a million miles away. You are about 20 minutes to Halifax, less than an hour to Peggy's Cove, but the setting is so tranquil you might just want to sit on the wharf by the lake. Great breakfast and wonderful host.”

“The building itself was lovely, and the decor was beautiful. We stayed in the Sunrise suite and were surprised at JUST how how open the door plan was - there was no partition whatsoever between bedroom and bathroom, and had a full view of toilet and shower from our bed. This would be a lovely room for a single person, but an awkward setup for two people, as there was no privacy for bathroom use. The kitchen and shared space was comfortable and beautifully designed with lots of plants and……

“This is an older hotel that is showing is age. Okay for an overnight cheap sleep. Staff were not well versed on surrounding restaurants or amenities.”

“Very convenient if you’re catching an early flight out of Halifax. Rooms are small, only queen beds and minimal furniture, but everything is new and well designed. The restaurant is very basic with a limited menu and minimal kitchen skills, but adequate for a simple meal. Recommended for travellers needing access to the airport.”

“Parking easy and access good for us but not if you have mobility issues. We had 2 rooms in 2 different buildings. One was exactly the same and same standard as our last visit, very good. The other, larger suite was missing certain touches e.g. very small bathroom/ shower/ no bottled water or biscuits provided. Would be nice touch to have milk in fridge rather than powdered milk. Excellent location. ”

“As soon as I walk in, I realize I can eat off this floor right now. That's how clean this place is. And I was like, d*** this place. This place smells so good. Holy man, look how bougie this place is man. All the lights have dimmer switches. The view is amazing Love the hot tub, but the black flies were brutal. They'll get you.\n But had a wonderful stay and will be back. The black won't bother you after Like 9 or 10 o'clock. And iwas like damn look at the shower head that's crazy.”
